ARE YOU ONE OF THE FEARFUL?

by Tony Alamo

Hermogenes was a disciple in Asia Minor mentioned by the Apostle Paul, along with Phygellus, as having deserted him, the reason for this desertion no doubt being caused by their fear of the perils of being associated or connected with Paul and his persecutions (II Tim. 1:15).When Paul was Saul, he was a possession of the devil. He assisted in the death of Steven when Steven was doing miracles and great acts in the name of Jesus with "great wonders and miracles among the people" (Acts 6:8).

The learned members of the foreign synagogues endeavored to refute Steven's teachings by argument or clamor. As the Cilician synagogue is mentioned among them, we can readily believe that Saul was one of the disputants. In this transaction he was, if not an assistant, something more than a mere spectator, because the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul (Acts 7:58). After Steven's death and burial, Saul continued his persecution of the church, as he tells us again and again in Luke and in Paul's own speeches and epistles. He began ravaging the church, invading the sanctuaries of domestic life, entering house after house. Those whom he thus tore from their homes, he committed to prison (Acts 8:3). And not only did men thus suffer at his hands, but women also. This was a fact three times repeated as a great aggravation of his cruelty (Acts 8:3). These persecuted people were even punished in the synagogues (Acts 26:11).

Steven was not the only one to suffer death, as we may infer from the apostle's own confession: "I persecuted this way to the death, binding and putting both men and women into prisons...Also when they were being put to death, I cast my vote against them" (Acts 22:4, 26:10). He even endeavored to cause them "to blaspheme" (Acts 26:11). His fame as an inquisitor was notorious far and wide. Even at Damascus, Ananias had heard "how much harm" he had done to Christ's Saints at Jerusalem (Acts 9:13). It was not without reason that he reaped some of what he had sown throughout his life in the Lord, and in his later years he never forgot how he had "persecuted the church of God beyond measure" (Gal. 1:13).

In Paul's ministry, he was able to go through horrible persecutions because the fear of the Lord was upon him. He never forgot how Jesus appeared to him on the road to Damascus.1 Jesus spoke and appeared to he who never thought Jesus existed. When this happened to me, it terrified me because His Spirit condensed some of the many sins of my life. I can imagine how fearful it was to this man who had done what he had done to so many Saints of God.

Paul had to stay in the water, I mean "the Holy Spirit," to keep him staying steadfast. We all do! He had to remember how the Lord had completely changed his mind and his heart. He became a new creature in Christ Jesus, and so can you, but never forget the pit the Lord pulls you out of.

Why do you think so many people have fallen away from the Lord, from Christ, from Christianity? Why will so many people (Christians, real Christians) spend eternity in Hell? Do you think that Christians begin throwing in the towel because persecution has become so intense? They do become fearful that their children will be taken away from them and they will never see them again. The government (the FBI) is telling members of my church that this will happen if they don't leave my church, get secular jobs, put their kids in public schools, and never mention God or Jesus again. The alternative is go to prison like me, Tony Alamo, be slandered by them like me, Pastor Tony Alamo, or be murdered, like they are planning to do to me, Tony Alamo.

Now the government is saying they, my congregation, can go to other churches, the ones that are fearful, the ones that refuse to deny themselves, the ones who refuse to take up their crosses and pay the price. Christians who forsook Paul like Hermogenes and Phygellus are in these churches today by the millions. They are fearful, and don't believe God's Word which states that He will condemn all who disobey Him. So, to please the devil, his government, the mass media, and the Vatican's FBI and other agencies, they "shall deliver you [and I] to be afflicted, and shall murder you [and I]: and you [and I] shall be hated of all nations for My [Jesus'] name's sake. And then shall many be offended [at the price they have to pay to enter Heaven, the ultimatum given them by every branch of the devil's Roman Catholic government. Therefore, they] shall betray one another [with very slanderous lies, and because I tell them these things] they shall hate one another [me included].

"And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity [sin] shall be so abundant, the love of many [the keeping of God's commandments] shall wax cold. But he that shall endure to the end [not many], the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye shall therefore see the abomination of desolation [the lawless society led by the devil—the Satan, threatening Christians to leave strong Christian churches—kidnapping their children and not letting them go home unless they deny Christ, throwing strong pastors like myself repeatedly into prison on false charges, Satan—the devil declaring war on the saints because we preach and teach the gospel to the world of lost sinners, the abomination that maketh desolate, that makes the whole earth a wilderness (Isa. 14:16-17)] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, then stand in the Holy Place (in the Holy Spirit, in salvation)]" (Matt. 24:9-15).

Now if anyone other than the Lord had predicted these things, I wouldn't pay attention to them, but this is the Lord, and these very things are happening now! If you're not living a Godly life in Christ Jesus, you really are not aware of these things. If you are really living as the Lord says we must, you do realize what's going on. It is soon to get much worse. Prepare your heart for sorrow before it's too late!!

"For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened" (Matt. 24:21-22).

Most of the trouble that the brave and bold Christians are having and will continue to have is because of the people who once were saved, then became fearful of man. They lost their fear of the Lord. God turned them over to a reprobate mind (Rom. 1:28). All the fearful of man shall spend eternity in the Lake of fire, but the bold and the brave, like Daniel and the three Hebrew children, shall spend eternity in Heaven. So exhort one another the more, as ye see the day of the Lord approaching. For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of power? “For we know Him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto Me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, the Lord shall judge His people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" (Heb. 10:25-31).

"But the fearful [of man], and unbelieving [those who don't believe the Lord], and the abominable [very sinful, hateful—the Roman army—government is called the 'Abomination that maketh desolate' or 'the Abomination of desolation.' In short, whatsoever is an object of extreme hatred by the Lord, is called an abomination (Webster's Dictionary). The U.S. troops are the Roman army. We are the ones who have the weapons of mass destruction] and murderers [includes abortions], and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Rev. 21:8). Build your faith by studying the Word of God. This way, when you’re full of faith, you will NOT punk out when put to the test!

Start your salvation now by saying this prayer:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
