The First Book of The Chronicles

1Ch 18:1 Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Phi-lis´tines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Phi-lis´-tines.

1Ch 18:2 And he smote Moab; and the Mo´ab-ites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.

1Ch 18:3 And David smote Had-ar-e´-zer king of Zo´-bah unto Ha´-math, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Eu-phra´-tes.

1Ch 18:5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Had-ar-e´-zer king of Zo´-bah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

1Ch 18:6 Then David put garrisons in Syria–damascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought gifts. Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

1Ch 18:7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Had-ar-e´zer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

1Ch 18:8 Likewise from Tib´-hath, and from Chun, cities of Had-ar-e´-zer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brasen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.

1Ch 18:9 Now when To´-u king of Ha´math heard how David had smitten all the host of Had-ar-e´-zer king of Zo´-bah;

1Ch 18:10 He sent Ha-do´-ram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Had-ar-e´-zer, and smitten him; (for Had-ar-e´-zer had war with To´-u;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.

1Ch 18:11 Them also king David dedicated unto the Lord, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from E´-dom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Phi-lis´-tines, and from Am´a-lek.

1Ch 18:12 Moreover A-bi´-shai the son of Ze-ru´-iah slew of the E´-dom-ites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.

1Ch 18:13 And he put garrisons in E´-dom; and all the E´-dom-ites became David’s servants. Thus the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

1Ch 18:14 So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.

1Ch 18:15 And Jo´-ab the son of Ze-ru´-iah was over the host; and Je-hosh´-a-phat the son of A-hi´-lud, recorder.

1Ch 18:16 And Za´-dok the son of A-hi´-tub, and A-bim´-e-lech the son of A-bi´-athar, were the priests; and Shav´-sha was scribe;

1Ch 18:17 And Be-na´-iah the son of Jehoi´-a-da was over the Cher´-e-thites and the Pel´-e-thites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
