JESUS CAME NOT TO CONDEMN BUT TO SAVE

Matthew 9:2 states, “And, behold, they [people who had faith in JESUS’ faith in HIS ability to heal the sick] brought to HIM a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and JESUS seeing their faith [faith in HIS ability to heal the man, because they believed HIM to be from GOD] said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” JESUS knew the sick man was not only aware that he was a sinner, but also worried that being a sinner might prevent him from receiving his healing. Because of this, the sick man was ashamed to be in the presence of the MAN with all this power, who was, in fact, GOD in the flesh.1 When JESUS said, “Be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee,” HIS words gave the sick man the faith to be healed.2 “And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemes. And JESUS knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts [to believe that JESUS is not GOD and therefore incapable to forgive sins, and to believe that to heal someone is evil]? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the SON of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith HE to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified GOD, which had given such power unto men. And as JESUS passed forth from thence, HE saw a man, named Matthew [a sinner, equivalent to an IRS agent, a tax collector], sitting at the receipt of custom: [the FATHER in Heaven, by the SPIRIT, told JESUS to speak to him] and HE saith unto him, Follow ME. And he arose, and followed HIM” (Matthew 9:3-9).

Now, many sinners knew Matthew. Everyone paid taxes to him, so it was customary for them to have lunch together. “And it came to pass, as JESUS sat at meat [with Matthew] in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with HIM and HIS disciples. [Sinners were not afraid to sit and eat with JESUS because they knew many of HIS disciples, and as far as they knew, they were still sinners. The Pharisees were the self-righteous hypocrites who never spoke to sinners regarding life after death or the kingdom of Heaven for those who would follow GOD. They never warned others about the pit of Hell, or the Lake of Fire awaiting them for not walking uprightly, neither did they share with sinners what GOD required.3] And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto HIS disciples, Why eateth your MASTER with publicans and sinners? But when JESUS heard that, HE said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Matthew 9:10-13).

JESUS did not come to even try to save those who were self-righteous, those who ignorantly believed that they didn’t need to repent, get closer to GOD, and have the SPIRIT of GOD living in them. Those individuals think like Cain, believing they will please GOD with their own idea of what is right, rather than what GOD requires, which is mercy.4 They believe in themselves rather than having faith in the WORD of GOD, which is JESUS, and rather than having JESUS by the SPIRIT living in them. If we don’t care enough to have mercy on the sinner and show them what GOD’S WORD says, we are self-righteous hypocrites. JESUS says, “I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance” (Matthew 9:13).

JESUS spoke this parable to the chief priests and elders of the Jews: “But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto HIM, The first. JESUS saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of GOD before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him” (Matthew 21:28-32).

Everyone has the same opportunity to seek the LORD and find HIM.5 But once you know the truth, you have a choice to make. You must count the cost.6 There is a price you must pay to become a sanctified servant of GOD. You must separate from all ungodliness and live a holy life.7 JESUS said, “If any man come to ME, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be MY disciple” (Luke 14:26). In other words, you cannot let anything or anyone but the LORD JESUS have first priority in your heart.

When you do this, Satan will be angry that he has lost you and will use people to try to lure you back into sin and ungodly living. When you make your stand and separate from sin and sinners, people will be angry, even enraged, but that is part of living for GOD. The righteous will suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12). But making JESUS the LORD of your life has great rewards now and for all eternity.8

JESUS taught, “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated ME before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted ME, they will also persecute you; if they have kept MY saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for MY name’s sake, because they know not HIM that sent ME. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin. He that hates ME hates MY FATHER also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both ME and MY FATHER. But this comes to pass, that the WORD might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated ME without a cause” (John 15:18-25).

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the FATHER is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the FATHER, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of GOD abideth for ever” (1 John 2:15-17).

JESUS is calling you to repent of your sins!9 It doesn’t matter what sins you are guilty of. JESUS died for us all, and the blood HE shed for us on the cross of Calvary washes the most filthy sins away and drowns them all in the sea of HIS forgetfulness.10 HE will never remember them against us again.11 But JESUS says after this happens, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee” (John 5:14). The worse thing would be that there would be no more repentance available for you. “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the HOLY SPIRIT, And have tasted the good WORD of GOD, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the SON of GOD afresh, and put HIM to an open shame” (Hebrews 6:4-6).

JESUS told us, “I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on ME should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear MY words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects ME, and receives not MY words, hath one that judges him: the WORD that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:46-48).

“And JESUS said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with HIM heard these words, and said unto HIM, Are we blind also? JESUS said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remains” (John 9:39-41). If they had acknowledged their sins and repented, they would have been forgiven. But they would not humble themselves and insisted they were righteous, so their sin remained on their souls.

Prayer

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11

After salvation, JESUS said to be baptized, fully submerged in water, in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT.12 Then study the King James Version Bible, and, for your benefit and the benefit of others, do what it says.13

CHRIST and GOD the FATHER now live in you through the HOLY SPIRIT. There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of GOD in you. The more the divine nature of GOD lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that have so easily moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. Pray for the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT.14 For instructions on how to receive the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT and to receive more of GOD’S holy nature, ask for our literature or call. For without holiness, no man shall see GOD (Hebrews 12:14).

If you want the world saved, as JESUS commands, then don’t rob GOD of HIS tithes and offerings. GOD said, “Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed THEE? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation [and this whole world]. Bring ye all the tithes [a ‘tithe’ is 10% of your gross income] into the storehouse, that there may be meat [Spiritual food] in MINE house [souls saved], and prove ME now herewith, saith the LORD of HOSTS, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of HOSTS. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of HOSTS” (Malachi 3:8-12).
