FAMOUS EX-CONS

This is a Series of Jail Birds Vol.1

by Tony Alamo

"And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmaelites, which had brought him down thither. And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him" (Gen. 39:1-3).

The Lord made all that Joseph did prosper, so his master put all that he had in Joseph's hands. "The Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake... (both) in the house and in the field... And Joseph was a goodly person and [very handsome]" (Gen. 39:3-6). "And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me" (Gen. 39:7). "But he refused, and [told her], Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" (Gen. 39:8-9).

Day after day, she kept talking to Joseph, but he would not listen to her, to lie with her or to be with her. Then one day Joseph went into the house "and she caught him by his garment and said, Lie with me: And he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out" (Gen. 39:10-12). When she saw that he left his garment and fled, she called the men of the house, and spoke "unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice: And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out. And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home" (Gen. 39:13-16).

"And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant, which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me: And it came to pass, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out. And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled" (Gen. 39:17-19). "And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison... And he was left there in the prison" (Gen. 39:20).

This ex-con was falsely convicted of a sex crime and he was put in prison for twelve years,1 but God delivered him and made him the second in command in Egypt (Gen. 41:39-44). Joseph was made the ruler of Egypt because of the gifts that God had given him of wisdom and the ability to reveal the mysterious revelation of dreams and visions. With the gift of God to interpret dreams and visions, and his God-given ability to govern, he saved Israel and Egypt. Otherwise, they would have starved to death.2 Praise the Almighty for His gifts and for everything, especially His salvation and deliverance!!

This is an opportunity for people to see this very godly man accused by a wicked female of a sex crime he never committed. He wasn't able to hire a heavy-weight attorney and there was no argument from him. What can you say when somebody has falsely accused you of a sex crime?

Jesus is the most famous ex-con. I'm proud to be in that number. "For whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" (Matt. 16:25). "They loved not their lives unto the death" (Rev. 12:11).

Joseph was a great man in the Bible in the Old Testament who God used to save Egypt and Israel during a world-wide famine. He was falsely accused of a sex crime that he never committed–of attempting to commit adultery with Potiphar's wife. He was in prison for twelve years for it. But he wound up being the monarch of Egypt.

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
