Light

by
Tony Alamo

"Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I alone rather than any other, am the Light of the world1 [the world’s only true direction to eternal life 2 ]. He who habitually follows with Me shall positively not order his behavior in the sphere of the darkness,3 but shall possess the light4 [Christ’s guidance for eternal life]" (John 8:12).

Jesus said, "I alone,5 in contradistinction to all others, am the road [to life]6 and the Truth,7 and the Life.8 No one comes to the Father except through Me.9 If you had learned to know Me through experience, you would have come to know My Father also" (John 14:6-7).

When Jesus "went to teach them in their synagogue the people were flabbergasted [astonished] and said, What is the source10 of this wisdom and these miracles?" (Matt. 13:54) CHRIST IS GOD’S WISDOM AND POWER (1 Cor. 1:24).11 "God spoke the WORD, Let there be light: and there was light" (Gen. 1:3).12 Christ is "THE WORD OF GOD"13 (John 1:1-3, Rev. 19:13). Christ, "THE WORD," is God’s power company. When God uttered the Words, "Let there be light," the light immediately went on and everything else. All things were made by "THE WORD OF GOD;"14 therefore, God and His Word [Christ] are one,15 and they are inseparable from each other.16

"In the beginning the Word existed. And the Word was in fellowship with God the Father.17 And ‘THE WORD’ [Christ] was absolute deity [God].18 Again, this Word was in fellowship [exact agreement] with God the Father in the beginning. All things came into being through Him:19 without Him not one thing came into existence. In Him only life existed.20 This aforementioned life was the light of men [the mental and spiritual enlightenment which enables us all to perceive the clear direction for obtaining eternal life by His Words].21 The light in the darkness is constantly shining.22 And the darkness did not overwhelm it"23 (John 1:1-5). To this very day the darkness has never overwhelmed God’s guidance to eternity to those who seek Him.24 The direction to eternal life has never changed through the years,25 though Satan’s agents on earth try to deceive mankind regarding this direction.26

"In the beginning the Word existed."27 The Apostle John, by the Holy Spirit, declares Christ’s "eternal divinity." He teaches us that Christ is the eternal God,28 manifested in flesh.29 John, by the Spirit of God, shows us that mankind’s restoration can only be accomplished through God’s wisdom and power which is Christ.30

Christ is the only one qualified to restore mankind to salvation31 because all things were created through His wisdom and power.32 Jesus, the aforementioned WORD, was the genuine light which spiritually enlightens [directs] every man as it comes into the world.33 He was in the world, and the world through His intermediate agency came into existence,34 and the world of sinners did not have an experiential knowledge of Him.35 It is He alone who breathed life and energy into every living creature,36 and He, "THE WORD," who entered a new mode of existence by becoming flesh and living in a tent [His physical body] among us.37

Since the fall of Adam and Eve, Christ has never ceased to give His light and direction for life to all men on a continuing basis.38 To believe that Christ is God, the very essence of God,39 is of the utmost importance, for it is impossible to gain eternal life from any source other than faith in God’s Word.40 The fact that Christ is God must be taught and learned.41 Without faith in it, how can the world be saved?42 Acts 4:12 states, "And there does not exist in any other [than Christ] the salvation [the illumination, the guidance], for there is not even another name under Heaven which has been given among men whereby we must be saved."43

Christ has given men a unique proof of His power. Our faith cannot rest on Christ unless we are certain that He is God.44 We do not abandon God when we believe that Christ is divine and inseparable from God. Rather, we please God.45 It is impossible to please God unless we believe that He exists and is who He says He is.46 And He says He is "THE WORD."47 And He says He is Christ.48 And He says He is the only direction to eternal life.49

We must become aware of the fact that Christ was in the beginning with God in the mode of His Word, His wisdom, and His power.50 Christ stated, "Before Abraham was, I am."51 It was Christ who spoke to Moses and all the prophets,52 and Christ the Almighty God who was the fourth figure in the fiery furnace with the three Hebrew children, causing them to escape from the fiery furnace safe and sound from any harm.53

We are all dead in our sins,54 without the power or the wisdom of God to save ourselves from eternal death.55 But God, through His wisdom and power in Christ, restores life to the dead56 (to all of us) if we accept the light, His guidance.57 If we believe Him enough to follow Him, to do what He says, to let Him direct our lives, to give Him our strength, He will give us His strength and His life;58 "strength for strength,"59 life for life, His eternal life for your giving up your life of sin and eternal death.60

Through the Apostle John, the Holy Spirit calls the Son of God "THE WORD"61 because He is God’s eternal wisdom and will.62 Jesus is the express image of God’s purpose,63 which is that all souls should hear and receive eternal life,64 which is attained by the light, the direction.65 The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is that direction. This happy and joyful message is revealed exclusively in Christ Jesus, who teaches us to love the eternal riches of the kingdom of Heaven66 and to despise the world’s false riches and temporal enjoyments.67 We should desire with all our hearts to embrace that pearl of great price,68 the incomparable light, the direction for those who desire eternal life the moment it is offered to us.69

Let this message serve as a warrant from God, a legal, heavenly document of direction to deliver you from the powers of evil and darkness,70 pain, suffering, fear, death,71 and an eternity of the torments found in Hell,72 in exchange for wisdom, power, peace with God, joy unspeakable,73 and light74 which is God’s perfect direction for your soul75 in Christ to escape Hell’s torments and gain the unspeakably glorious pleasures of Heaven and fellowship with God the Father and His Son, "THE WORD," the essence, the wisdom and power of God. All the treasures of Heaven and a life of abundant joy are found in Him and offered to you now. You may become heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ76 by saying this prayer if you agree to continue under His direction,77 till Christ takes you or till He comes back to earth, which shall be very soon.78

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

Now that you are saved and forgiven of your sins, raise your hands and praise the Lord. "Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The LORD reigneth."79

Christ now lives in you through the Holy Spirit.80 There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of God in you. God the Father lives now in you also. The more of the divine nature of God that lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that so easily have moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. This is caused by more man in us than God in us. Mankind has become so wicked that if Satan and his impish army were abolished, we would be our own devil.

Now that you are saved, pray for the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Prayerfully study the Word and pray always for more of the divine nature.81 For instructions on how to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and to receive more of God’s holy nature, ask for our literature or call. For without holiness no man shall see God.82

Now that you are saved it is a commandment to be fully submerged, baptized in water in the name of the Father and in the name of the Son and in the name of the Holy Spirit.83 Follow all of God’s commands and live 84

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
