PERFECTION?

by Tony Alamo

What difference do man’s opinions make, when at the end of our lives, we will all be judged by the Word of God, by what God says?1 What we think doesn’t matter. We are commanded to put on the mind of Christ (Rom. 13:14, 15:5-6, I Cor. 1:10, 2:16, Gal. 3:27, Phlp. 1:27, 2:2, I Pet. 4:1). Philippians 2:5 states, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

Proverbs 14:12 states, “There is a way which seem-eth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” The whole world is deceived by Satan. Revelation 12:9 states, “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” We humans have to be very careful, and watch out. We must “be sober, [we must] be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (I Pet. 5:8). God promises that Satan will devour us if we don’t put on the mind of Christ. Remember, Satan is a great deceiver (John 8:44). He “deceiveth the whole world” (Rev. 12:9) and, if possible, he deceiveth the very elect. That possibility exists if we don’t put on the mind of Christ. Jesus says, “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matt. 24:24).

Human life is short. Our life on earth is a shadow (I Chron. 29:15, Job 8:9, Psa. 102:11, 144:4, Eccl. 6:12, 8:13).

Again, God says our lives are like vapors; our life is uncertain. We don’t know that we’ll be here tomorrow. James 4:14 says, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”

Our lives are like grass. Jesus said, “Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” (Matt. 6:30). James 1:10-11 says, “But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.”

We are currently living in a nuclear-infested world. There are enough nuclear bombs to turn the world into an inferno within a few moments. God’s Word tells us that the end of time, which is now, will be the most dangerous and troublesome time that has ever been. The prophet Daniel saw this time. He said, “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book [of life in Heaven!]. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt” (Dan. 12:1-2). Revelation 12:12 says, “Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” And the Lord, speaking by the prophet Joel, asks: In the history of mankind, has there ever been a day like the day we’re currently living in? Ask the old men. Search the history books. Has there ever been a nuclear power enough to blow the earth to smithereens, turning everyone to dust? Has there ever been an attack on God’s Word as there is today, by the powers of Satan? Or an attack on the name of God Himself? This is asked as though the living God is weak and not able to do anything to these heathens.

Satanic human beings are symbolized in Joel 1:4 as palmerworms, locusts, cankerworms, and caterpillars, who have, through the years, demonized the Bible, the KJV Bible, which is the pure, infallible Word of God! Until a few short years ago, there was not much left of the truth of God’s holy Word, but today the Lord is calling a strong people, a mighty people, to restore that which the palmerworm, the locust, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar have eaten away from the true meaning of the infallible Word of God for the purpose of destroying all mankind. Satan has deceived the whole world (Rev. 12:9).

Before Christ’s ministry, John the Baptist was sent as a forerunner, first to make the ways of the Lord straight, then to make the true meaning of God’s Word known to the world as a voice crying in the wilderness. Mark 1:2-3 says, “Behold, I [God] send My messenger before Thy face [the face of Jesus], which shall prepare Thy way [the ways of Jesus] before Thee. The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight [make the truth of God’s Word known].”

It seems today that everyone has their own interpretation of the Bible. This can become blasphemous. But today God is raising up an army of John the Baptists to prepare the ways of the Lord before His second coming. You can become one of these many John the Baptists that will prepare the ways of the Lord by knowing the correct meaning of His Words and the correct meaning of repentance.

The world keeps saying, “No one is perfect,” “No one can become perfect,” but God says we must be perfect to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.2 Matthew 5:48 and many other scriptures say, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect.”

Perfection doesn’t happen overnight, but we strive for perfection. “Then said one unto [Jesus], LORD, are there few that be saved?” Jesus answered him saying, “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the Master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and He shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are. Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in Thy presence, and Thou hast taught in our streets. But He shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from Me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the Kingdom of God. And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last” (Luke 13:23-30).

You must be born again of the Spirit (John 3:3-7). This is just the beginning of perfection. To be born again of the Spirit, to begin your walk of perfection, say this prayer:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up your cross daily and follow Jesus for the purpose of mortifying your flesh, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God with Christ on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God in Christ on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, submit yourselves one to another, and do what the Word says so that the church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God’s Word, His order, and His authority in and by you. Praise the Lord. May God bless and reward you abundantly. Yours in the wonderful name of Jesus,

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
