SAVED

Salvation is a gift from GOD. No person is able to earn it. This magnificent gift is initially given freely.1 However, if we are to retain it, we must be obedient to the LORD’S demand of obedience.2 “To obey is better than sacrifice” (1 Samuel 15:22).

After receiving this free gift, CHRIST’S righteousness is only imputed, transferred, to a person who reads GOD’S requirements in the WORD of GOD, and then consistently follows them. We must become CHRIST-like, obedient as the LORD was when HE walked the earth.3 Active obedience is true obedience.4 When a person eventually becomes like CHRIST, HIS righteousness is imputed, transferred, unto that person to become a saint. Our being holy as CHRIST is holy is connected to our salvation.5 GOD says, “Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).

The entire life of CHRIST was sacrificial, but sacrificing HIMSELF even to death would have been meaningless without HIM having lived a spotless life.6 First Peter 1:18-19, 22-25, states, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of CHRIST, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot… Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the SPIRIT unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently [keep GOD’S commandments]: Being born again, not of corruptible seed [as you once were], but of incorruptible, by the WORD of GOD [CHRIST], which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the WORD of the LORD endureth for ever. And this is the WORD which by the gospel is preached unto you.”

CHRIST’S death on the cross does not save us unconditionally forever. When accepted, it does wash all our former sins away, which makes us sinless and righteous.7 However, if we do not continue to obey CHRIST by denying ourselves, taking up our cross daily and following HIM for the rest of our lives,8 we fall away from CHRIST’S atonement, and disobey HIS commands.9 The Apostle Paul said, “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway” (1 Corinthians 9:27).

Peter stated, “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire” (2 Peter 2:20-22).

The LORD was obedient to the will of the FATHER (Matthew 26:36-46). HE was beaten beyond recognition10 and crucified, shedding HIS sinless blood, which is the only cleanser that can take away our former sins.11 After CHRIST forgives us and enters our hearts, we are born again of the SPIRIT and must live the holy life, being the continuation of CHRIST’S incarnation.12 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of GOD, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto GOD, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of GOD” (Romans 12:1-2).

GOD the FATHER was in JESUS’ human body, which was begotten by the HOLY SPIRIT, making HIM both human and GOD.13 HE was not begotten by a human, but by GOD. Thus, HE was the first GOD-man. The angel Gabriel told the virgin Mary, “The HOLY SPIRIT shall come upon thee, and the power of the HIGHEST shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the SON of GOD” (Luke 1:35).

If CHRIST with HIS FATHER is living in us by the HOLY SPIRIT, by adoption we also become the “sons of GOD” (1 John 3:1).14 Paul explains it in these words: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage [to continue living for sin and self] again to fear [of dying]; but ye have received the SPIRIT of adoption, whereby we cry, ABBA, FATHER. The SPIRIT itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of GOD: And if children, then heirs; heirs of GOD, and joint-heirs with CHRIST; if so be that we suffer with HIM, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us… And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the SPIRIT, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body” (Romans 8:15-18, 23). There is one original SON of GOD. We are the adopted sons of GOD with all the same benefits as JESUS.15

JESUS tells us how to be saved.16 HE also tells us how to stay saved, which is by continuing to walk in holiness to the end.17 “And ye shall be hated of all men for MY name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 10:22). “For MY name’s sake” refers to the name of JESUS which is “the WORD of GOD” (Revelation 19:13). “In the beginning was the WORD [JESUS], and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD [JESUS] was GOD... And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us” (John 1:1, 14).

We are to give “... thanks unto the FATHER, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of HIS dear SON: In whom we have redemption through HIS blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible GOD, the firstborn of every creature: For by HIM were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by HIM, and for HIM: And HE [JESUS the WORD] is before all things, and by HIM all things consist [are made up]. And HE is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things HE might have the preeminence. For it pleased the FATHER that in HIM should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of HIS cross, by HIM to reconcile all things unto HIMSELF; by HIM, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in Heaven” (Colossians 1:12-20).

Once we are saved, we are commissioned to be ambassadors for CHRIST, to bring the good news of the gospel to all the world.18 The LORD said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in ME, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without ME ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in ME, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in ME, and MY words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is MY FATHER glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be MY disciples” (John 15:5-8). “Ye have not chosen ME, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the FATHER in MY name, HE may give it you” (John 15:16).

“And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath HE reconciled in the body of HIS flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in HIS sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under Heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of CHRIST in my flesh for HIS body’s sake, which is the church: Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of GOD which is given to me for you, to fulfil the WORD of GOD; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to HIS saints: To whom GOD would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is CHRIST in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in CHRIST JESUS: Whereunto I also labour, striving according to HIS working, which worketh in me mightily” (Colossians 1:21-29). If you are a member of the body of CHRIST, CHRIST with HIS FATHER by the SPIRIT will be working mightily in you as well.19

JESUS said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of GOD” (John 3:3). If you’re not saved, say this prayer, then continue following the LORD to the end:

Prayer

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11

After salvation, JESUS said to be baptized, fully submerged in water, in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT.12 Then study the King James Version Bible, and, for your benefit and the benefit of others, do what it says.13

CHRIST and GOD the FATHER now live in you through the HOLY SPIRIT. There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of GOD in you. The more the divine nature of GOD lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that have so easily moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. Pray for the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT.14 For instructions on how to receive the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT and to receive more of GOD’S holy nature, ask for our literature or call. For without holiness, no man shall see GOD (Hebrews 12:14).

If you want the world saved, as JESUS commands, then don’t rob GOD of HIS tithes and offerings. GOD said, “Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed THEE? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation [and this whole world]. Bring ye all the tithes [a ‘tithe’ is 10% of your gross income] into the storehouse, that there may be meat [Spiritual food] in MINE house [souls saved], and prove ME now herewith, saith the LORD of HOSTS, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of HOSTS. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of HOSTS” (Malachi 3:8-12).
