The True Witness

by Tony Alamo

Jesus is the one true and faithful witness. 1  We are commanded to be like Him, 2  and to follow Him. 3  A true witness cannot be just anybody, but can only be one who is known for telling the truth: "He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not." 4  A true witness is one who cannot be bribed or bought for any price. A true witness is one who believes God when he says, "What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" 5  A true witness is a person who believes God's Word which tells him, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour." 6 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." 7

A true witness believes God. He does everything God tells him to do. Therefore, a true witness can be trusted and qualifies as a witness. A person who says that he knows Jesus and doesn't keep His commandments, "is a liar [not a witness], and the truth is not in him"8 and liars are not qualified to be witnesses.

The one who qualifies as a true witness knows that Hell is real and is a place for all liars.  The Word of God gives this graphic picture of Hell: "And in hell he [the man who was rich in his own spirit, rich in his own ways, not the Lord's, and refused to be poor in spirit, that is, to be obedient to the Lord and do the will of God in his lifetime] lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he [the just] is comforted [in Heaven], and thou art tormented [in Hell forever]." 9 Jesus said, "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels." 10

A true witness will not let Satan use his tongue to lie against God or any of God's anointed. He would never betray anyone or lie about anyone. This is one of the many reasons God hates a lying tongue. 11 The door to Heaven is forever shut tight against those who "loveth and maketh a lie." 12

The lying tongue can and has caused millions of people to be killed, imprisoned, tortured and to lose everything they possess, including their lives and the lives of their loved ones.

The lying tongue is a serpent. The Apostle James said by the Holy Spirit, "The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell." 13  The Holy Spirit, through King Solomon said, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." 14

A lying tongue spreads propaganda. Today's media is a lying tongue, is tabloid, yellow dog news. Government-paid liars, including jail and prison house liars are just liars, not witnesses. The criminals' background and motivation for lying is too great for them to be credible, truthful witnesses. These false witnesses would lie and rat on their own mothers and fathers, sending them to prison or to their deaths to stay out of or get out of prison, or to get a chunk of dirty government money, to purchase drugs with which to further abuse their bodies and souls. They lie to impress people with their new, ill-gotten gain.

Jesus said Satan "is a liar, and the father of it." 15  All those who lie about anyone, according to Jesus, are the children of the devil, 16 and therefore do not qualify to be witnesses. They are not qualified to testify for or against anyone in or out of any courtroom.

A jury must be a body of truth seekers. Each one in this group of the defendant's own peers must have a reputation for honesty, fairness, good reasoning, and integrity. That is why a biblical church has fair trials, which are conducted by the pastor and why the other church elders with the pastor preside over every major dispute. The pastor and these elders know to use peers and honest witnesses, not those who could be bribed or might bear false witness. Paul states, "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust [liars], and not before the saints?" 17

We are to do unto others, treat others, as we would want to be treated ourselves, and treat everyone as though they were the Lord. "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the Law and the prophets."18 "Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."19 "In lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves."20

Jesus said, "Whoever causes one of these little ones believing in Me [Christ's followers, Christ's lambs, the bride of Christ] to offend, it is better for him that a millstone turned by an ass be hung on his neck, and he be sunk in the depth of the sea." 21

To lie against anyone is to lie against Christ. God specifically said, "Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm." 22 Surely there is a day of reckoning with our Maker. "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men." 23

The Lord wants to always be at home in us, to live in us, completely settled and comfortable. Our bodies are to be totally His possession, His home, and Satan is not welcomed at all in Christ's home any more than he is in Heaven.

God's judgments are final and forever. Hell and Heaven are forever also. If you have lied about someone, causing them to suffer in any way, whether it be a little, or a lot, God's Word says you've done it unto the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." 24

You need to quickly repent in order to undo this evil you have done. You must confess and forsake all sin now, just in case you die today. You must repent before you meet God with this sin—or any sin—on your eternal soul. Later might be too late. Write out your full confession right now, and send it to the one you've lied about. If you do this, God could forgive you. You could be saved. But don't delay. Don't let the spirit of the devil talk you out of it, the same way he first talked you into lying. Don't let Satan use you anymore. Don't let him keep you sinning. He will keep your soul as his possession, and you will be forever lost.

Don't hesitate for even one moment. Break the devil's back by sending your confession to the one you have wronged and then get the necessary cleansing you need from God through the blood of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Repent of your sins now. Get back to God before you're too late for eternity. Cry out to God. Say this prayer:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
