THE DEVIL IS SO WEAK THAT HE
PICKS ON BABIES AND WEAKLINGS

by Tony Alamo

The book of John tells of the devil being hurled into the heart of Judas Iscariot, weakling son of Simon, with a force so strong that it (the devil) stayed there to betray Jesus (Greek translation by Kenneth Wuest, the expanded translation). “And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly” (John 13:27).

I am reminded by this translation of two similar experiences of my own. I wasn't even two years old, still in diapers, when my dad decided to send me to the very small grocery store in Joplin, Missouri, to buy some stick matches and one other item. Both items came to fifty cents. My dad gave me one dollar. We were living in Joplin, Missouri, where my younger brother Danny and I both were born. We had an upstairs apartment in an older type house. The grocery store was in a little house next to the house that we lived in, and a big, grassy park was across the street. While I was going down the pretty long flight of stairs inside the house (I was halfway down), when I was alarmed, shocked because I felt this very evil spirit like a spiritual torpedo come at me from my right side which was very real, which strongly gave me the idea to keep (steal) the change. When I crossed the little patch of grass which led to the store from our door, I opened the door, there was a door mat at the bottom of the stairs. I hid the 50 cent piece under the mat as I was instructed by the evil spirit.

I didn’t know that my dad was at the top of the stairs (of course, he was watching my every step of the way). When I got to the top of the stairs he asked me, "Where is the change?" The same devil put it in my little more than one-year-old heart to say, "What change?" My dad took me by my hand down to the bottom of the stairs, he lifted up the mat, picked up the 50 cent piece, and said, "This change." I've always wished he would have punished me good, but he never did. I was extremely embarrassed and ashamed, and to this day I am filled full of remorse that I stole from my dad then lied about it to him, especially at such a young age.

I never would have thought of such a thing to do. It is still so vivid in my mind—the spirit of Satan causing me to sin and be accountable for it at such an early age! God is so real,1 but we can’t forget how real the weak and beggarly devil is too!2 I was defenseless, but now I have on the "whole armor of God" (Eph. 6:11).3

A 19-year-old woman in my ministry had a terrible problem of satanic hatred and just as satanic of a temper. She would punch her fists into trees and walls, and throw things around everywhere. She wouldn't do it all the time, only at certain times. She never fought the demon or demons. It was such a bad problem that I had to ask her to leave the church because she could have killed some one. I told her if she ever conquered these demons, she could move back in. Instead of fighting these demons for her own sake, her own salvation, she became much worse. She went to the IRS with a pack of lies, traded me for their money, and falsely testified against me with several other backsliders from my church. Before this, however, she came to the door and wanted to talk, so I let her in. The house was full of people. We sat on the couch in the living room, and we talked for a while. She asked me, "After all the evil that I've done to you, would you let me come back to the church?" (She knew that people in the church saw her in the Ft. Smith, Arkansas IRS office telling them lies about the church and me). I told her, "Sure, if you've conquered all your problems."

Immediately from the right side of both of us, the very same torpedo-like spirit of the devil crossed in front of me, and went straight into her soul which was to my left. She quickly and immediately stood up as the spirit of the devil hurled itself into her heart with a force so great that it has stayed there to this day to betray the Lord, His church, the people in the church, and myself. The very instant the spirit struck in her, she stood up, and I could see the devil flashing in her eyes. Even her hair flared up and like she was electrified flew up. With a very devilish voice, she said to my two year old son, "Good-bye, Sion," and she left the house. The last time I ever saw her was in court in Memphis, Tennessee, along with many others who lied about me. I was sent to prison for six years, I served 4 years in prison then 6 months in a halfway house, all on false charges. And later it was found out that Chris Belcher, the prosecuting attorney from Washington, D.C., hid my evidence which proved my innocence. The Judge McCalla knows this but refuses to release the information which could exonerate me!

It goes to show how evil the devil is if he will tempt a baby and a girl who cannot control herself, a weak nineteen year old, as well as corrupt prosecutors and judges. If people don't fight their evil spirits when they find out that they have them, the devil will totally invade them and they will become the devil's servants.4 They will more than likely never be able to repent.

The Apostle Paul let us know that we have to fight the devil. Paul said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (II Tim. 4:7). You must fight the devil!!5 You are fighting him for your very life, your eternal soul. Start now by saying this prayer:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
