THOU, LORD, HAST NOT FORSAKEN THEM THAT SEEK YOU

by Tony Alamo

There is a place where you can hide where the devil can’t find you! It is in the shadow of HIS (GOD’s) wings.1

Psalm 17:8-15, “Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of THY wings, From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about. They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly. They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth; Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is THY sword: From men which are THY hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly THOU fillest with THY hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. As for me, I will behold THY face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with THY likeness.”

Have you ever praised GOD with your whole heart, and shown forth all HIS marvelous works? “I Will praise THEE, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all THY marvellous works” (Psa. 9:1). Have you ever been glad and rejoiced in HIM? Have you ever sung praises to HIS name, to the name of the MOST HIGH? “I will be glad and rejoice in THEE: I will sing praise to THY name, O THOU MOST HIGH” (Psa. 9:2)? If not, why?

“When [My] enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at THY presence. For [YOU, my GOD], have maintained my right and my cause; [YOU sat] in the throne judging right. [YOU have] rebuked the heathen, [YOU have] destroyed the wicked, THOU hast put out their name for ever and ever” (Psa. 9:3-5).

“O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and [you] have destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them. But the LORD shall endure for ever: HE [has] prepared HIS throne for judgment. And HE shall judge the world in righteousness, HE shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness” (Psa. 9:6-8).

“The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble” (Psa. 9:9).

“And they that know THY name [THY name is THE WORD OF GOD (John 1:1-14, Rev. 19:13)] will put their trust in THEE: for THOU, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek THEE” (Psa. 9:10). The LORD didn’t bring you or I this far to leave us.2 The greatest discouragement always comes before great victory. Everyone gets discouraged at times. JESUS got discouraged, the prophets got discouraged. The devil wants you and I to be so discouraged that we throw in the towel, lose faith mostly before GOD makes HIS major move.

“Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people HIS doings” (Psa. 9:11).

“When HE [makes] inquisition for blood, HE [remembers] them: HE [forgets] not the cry of the humble” (Psa. 9:12).

“Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me (Psa. 9:13), THOU that liftest me up from the gates of death: That I may show forth all THY praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in THY salvation” (Psa. 9:14). So have faith, don’t be discouraged or dismayed.3 Wait on the Lord.4 In the storm sometimes it seems that even YOU have forgotten about me, but I trust YOU in spite of what I am going through. The pain, I know YOU are with me and all those that trust YOU.

The Psalmist praised GOD with his whole heart. He showed forth all HIS marvelous works. He was glad and rejoiced in HIM: And sang praise unto GOD’s name, O THOU MOST HIGH! (Psalm 9:1-2).

“The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken” (Psa. 9:15).

“The LORD is known by the judgment which HE executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Hig-ga´-ion. Selah” (Psa. 9:16).

“The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget GOD” (Psa. 9:17).

“For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever” (Psa. 9:18).

“Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in THY sight” (Psa. 9:19).

“Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah” (Psa. 9:20).

Do the same, and GOD will be with you as HE was with David. Take some unsaved person or persons through this prayer as many times that GOD opens a door that others may know the LORD and praise HIM.

Say this prayer if you believe:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up your cross daily and follow JESUS for the purpose of mortifying your flesh, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of CHRIST.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of CHRIST. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for GOD with CHRIST on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for GOD in CHRIST on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the WORD of GOD, submit yourselves one to another, and do what the WORD says so that the church and the world may see evidence of your submission to GOD’S WORD, HIS order, and HIS authority in and by you. Praise the LORD. May GOD bless and reward you abundantly. Yours in the wonderful name of JESUS,

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
