GREATER WORKS THAN THESE

by Tony Alamo

Oh, if today we could hear HIS voice (Hebrews, 4:7).

We are to be like God, Pro Life! I am Pro Life! Are you? Those who are not Pro Life are of the devil. God says so in these words: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: [Jesus says] I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

God is the Creator of Life, and commands us not to murder, and to “Be fruitful, and multiply!” (Genesis 1:28). We are to walk with God.

The Word of God is light, and it separates light from darkness. “Let there be light: and there was light” (Genesis 1:3). “The law of the Lord is perfect” (Psalms 19:7). We have to keep the faith. If we don’t, then who will? God willed that we were born! We must be witnesses.

Jesus told His disciples that He must go away if we were to receive Him in us as our God, our Savior, our Guide, and our Comforter. He said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do [when He, by the Spirit, lives in us]; because I go unto My Father” (John 14:12).

Jesus fed 5,000 men, not to mention all the women and children.1 All together, there were possibly ten or even fifteen thousand people. Could it be that we could do greater than this today? Could we, by enough faith in the ability in Christ, raise the dead, walk on water, calm the wind and sea, heal all manner of diseases, open blind eyes, cause the deaf to hear, and cause those who are possessed by devils to be freed from them? We will, through Christ, do greater works than these. People who are spiritually blind say that the age of miracles is over. They will tell you that in one day Peter won more souls than Jesus on the day of Pentecost. However, the truth is that Jesus won many more souls than all the Apostles.

Jesus said, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this stormy and windy mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Matthew 17:20). “And whatsoever [we] shall ask in [Jesus’] name, that will [He] do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13).

Don’t let anyone destroy your faith by telling you anything other than to “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16:31). When Jesus told us “greater things,” He meant it! It is a sin to doubt the words of Jesus. “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” (Mark 16:16). If you believe Christ, that you can be saved, then say this prayer:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up your cross daily and follow Jesus for the purpose of mortifying your flesh, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God with Christ on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God in Christ on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, submit yourselves one to another, and do what the Word says so that the church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God’s Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God bless and reward you abundantly.

Yours in the wonderful name of Jesus,
Pastor Tony Alamo
