JESUS’ WORDS ARE THE FATHER’S

Jesus is life to those who eat His words; they are the spirit of nourishment and strength, the Bread of Life.1 We are saved and nourished by receiving His words which proceed from the mouth of God. “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4).2 Jesus said God the Father is the one who does the talking through Him (John 14:10).3 Jesus said, “Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father [is] in Me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself: but the Father that dwelleth in Me, He doeth the works” (John 14:10).

This means that when Jesus tells us how to pray to the Father, it is the Father telling us precisely how to be in communion with Him the way it must be. The Lord’s Prayer followed. This is the blueprint of how to receive the answer to your prayers. Careful attention must be paid to every detail of the Bible (the Lord’s prayer) for the prayer to be answered.

We see in the beginning of the Lord’s Prayer that our Father doesn’t have us focus on His majesty, but on Him as a father to us. Thus Jesus instructed His inquisitive disciples. This word, Father, was exceedingly strange and fearful, because the Jews would never have thought as

individuals to dare use the word Father when addressing Jehovah God. God was “the Father of the Nation,” but never had any Jew dared call Him Father.4 They had only heard Jesus call God His Father.5 We can and must both recognize God as our Father and call God our Father because He is our Father in every sense that He is Jesus’ Father.6 We are partners of Jesus’ Sonship and His name, His body.7 Therefore, God has become our Father as well.

The name Father expresses personal and tender love, protection, care, and intimacy.8 It gives to prayer, at the very outset, the warm family circle of home love, of father’s love and communication.

Have you ever prayed in this way? I wonder if angels see us, who were at one time sinners, but are now sons of God, dwelling in bodies of dust with the Spirit of God inside with our spirits, calling out to God our Heavenly Father, speaking to our Father through Jesus to the Majesty of Heaven, who is also Abba, our Father.9

Do you pray this way? Do you or are you able to say “yes” to the Apostle John when he writes to us all, saying, “I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father” (I John 2:13)?

Our minds are directed like a laser beam to Heaven because this is the specific dwelling place of the Father, our Father. Our Father occupies the throne in Heaven.10 He controls and rules over the entire universe,11 and in our hearts.12

Our prayers must always recognize the nearness and greatness of God.13 Both the Old and New Testaments are filled with the incredible and sublime representation of the Supreme Majesty of God our Father, and the more we know His greatness, the more boldly we will seek and claim through prayer His intervention in all our trials, tribulations, discouragements, persecutions, and emergencies.14

When we bow to Him in prayer, whether we are on our knees or not, we are talking to Him who is saying to us today, as He said to Abraham, “I am El Shaddai, the Almighty God” (Gen. 17:1). He said to Jeremiah, “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me?” (Jer. 32:27) and to Isaiah, “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of His understanding” (Isa. 40:28).

Our prayer to God is also fellowship with Him. By praying this way, our prayer is not only fellowship with God, but is also a fellowship with our heart.15 When we say, “Our Father,” in one moment we are lifted out of ourselves and joined to be members one of another.16 We are at first linked with Christ, but no one is separated. The highest promises are given to all those who agree with Christ.17 His words are the Father’s. Call on the Father in the name of Jesus to become a son of God by this prayer:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.
