THE LAMB OF GOD

by Tony Alamo

Christ is the true sin-bearer of the world (to all those who repent).1 “The next day John (the baptizer) seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). “And looking upon Jesus as He walked, he saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!” (John 1:36)

“The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearers, so opened He not His mouth: In His humiliation His judgment was taken away: and who shall declare His generation? for His life is taken from the earth” (Acts 8:32-33).

In the Old Testament, lambs and young rams were an important representation of Christ in the daily sacrifice (Lev.4:24; Num. 6:14). “And he shall offer his offering [a representation of Christ] unto the Lord, one he lamb of the first year [no more than one year old] without blemish for a burnt offering [a symbol of Christ’s future death for the forgiveness of our sins], and one ewe [female] lamb of the first year without blemish [like Christ, without sin] for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish [sin] for peace offerings, And a basket of unleavened bread [Leaven is typified as impurities in the flesh. Christ, the Word of God, is the unleavened bread of life. Jesus is the sinless bread of life.], cakes of fine flour mingled with oil [symbolic of the Holy Spirit], and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings” (Num. 6:14-15).

“Lamb of God” is a correct term used to describe Christ as the sin-bearer of the world (John 1:29, 36; Acts 8:32; I Pet. 1:19). In these passages, Christ is likened to a sacrificial lamb on account of His death, innocently and patiently endured to expiate sin. “Lamb” was a term used early on to describe the redemption to be brought by the long waited Messiah (Isa. 53:7). The Lamb (sheep) speaks eloquently of the coming redeemer and sin-bearer.

The Lamb as the Symbol of Christ in Egypt

On the Passover, the Paschal lamb will be travestied by the world anti-Christ body or system. The world system sets itself up as the true Christ and God, professing to be the redeemer, but in reality is nothing more than a rank imitation (the Antichrist). This false prophet is described in scripture as “another beast coming up out of the earth: and he had two horns like a lamb” (Rev.13:11). Especially satanic and significant is the use or the figure of the lamb, a symbol of Christ in the Apocalypse (book of Revelation).2

Revelation 22:1 says “And He showed me a pure river of water [living water—the Holy Spirit] of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb” (not the false lamb). “And there shall be no more curse [because everyone there does not doubt the Word, does not doubt even one Word of God]: but the throne of God and of the Lamb [not the false lamb] shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him [not the false Christ, the false god, the Antichrist]” (Rev. 22:3).

The term “marriage of the Lamb,” mentioned in Rev. 19:7-9, speaks of the union of Christ and His obedient church members (only those who are spotless from sin, obedient to His Word—His commandments).3 Faith without works is dead (Jas. 2:20). “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works (without doing what God says to do) is dead?”

Some of the worst of the many false prophets Jesus warned us about are these humans who write and sell Bible dictionaries and the new Bibles, those which tell you that you can live a life of sin and disobedience after you were saved and still go to Heaven—this is patently false.4 The Lord says, “Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever” (John 8:34-35).

As for those who write anti-Christ government Bibles which tell you that the government secular rulers are God’s rulers—please, Jesus says, don’t believe them for your own soul’s sake. The Lord’s rulers are His ministers (Rom. 13:1-6). Jesus said, “Ye are My friends if you do everything I say” (John 15:14).

The Apostle James says you are a Christian because you say there is one God, and that you believe all of His words. “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well (James sarcastically says): the devils also believe, and tremble” (Jas. 2:19). James also says, “Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works (as Christ commands): show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works” (Jas. 2:18). Jesus said we will be judged by His Word on Judgment Day by the works we have done (Rev.20:12).5

Again, “the marriage of the Lamb” (Rev.19:7-9) is the union of Jesus Christ and His church. His second coming to earth is to destroy His enemies, cast out satanic power, and set up the long-awaited mediatorial kingdom of spiritual Israel.6

“And I saw Heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD. And the armies which were in Heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him that sat on the horse, and against His army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of His mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh” (Rev. 19:11-21).

In Revelation 5:6, John saw “a Lamb standing as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth”. Christ, invested with the attributes of God (because He is God), omnipotent and omniscient, shares the universal empire which He, “the Word of God,” created and the homage of the universe.

People who receive Christ now—you were almost without hope forever. Thanking and praising God by saying this prayer is just the beginning of your salvation. Say this prayer to God:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
