THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE

I had heard the term “in the twinkling of an eye”1 many times in my life before I became a Christian, but I never really understood that the term came from the Bible or how quickly the twinkling of the eye was until after I had become a Christian and after I received the vision God gave me at the request of my wife just before He united us together in marriage by visions, first to her and then to me. At that time, Sue was nine years older than me. She had been a Christian and a pastor for many years before my spiritual conversion. I had just received the Lord a few days before these visions. I was thirty years of age, and she was thirty-nine.

While she was hearing and seeing the vision of us being married, she, because of unbelief, told God, “If this is You, then show him and make him tell me!” I was sleeping on a couch in the living room (fully clothed). I had been up all night with a bad toothache. I had gone to Sue’s apartment, where a bunch of young adults were already waiting for Susie to teach them the Bible.

When I sat down on the couch, the pain from my toothache went away, and the relief of it made me relax and become very tired, so I fell sound asleep. The vision came in full vivid color like a TV screen; it had two golden pipes in my heart reaching from me into Heaven. This was after the vision showed Sue with a magenta or deep red velour sweater and midnight blue velour pants. She was lying on a couch. I saw me walk into the room quickly and kneel by her and kissed her on her lips for a long time. God had made me fear Him very much by the experience I had of Him in the attorney’s office in Beverly Hills, so I immediately began rejecting this vision of me kissing Susie. I said, “No Lord,” but He was saying, “Yes.” At the same time, I said to God, “She’s smarter than me; she’s been saved longer than me.” He replied, “That’s good for your ego!” Other questions came out of me as fast as a machine gun, and questions from my heart flew up to God through one of the golden pipes to Heaven, millions of questions came out of my heart to God and so fast it was like a blur. The answers were coming back to me through the other golden pipe into my heart from God in Heaven until my heart filled up with knowledge and confidence. While all of this was going on, I was pushing myself up from the vision, so I was already awake, and even though I was awake, I could still see the vision and could hear the Holy Spirit, with rings of smoke (Spirit) around me, say over and over again, “It’s true, it’s true, it’s true, it’s true!”

The vision turned from color to white on black, similar to a film negative, of Sue’s right profile and my left profile, both of us still kissing. The image of us began shimmering. It moved from being in front of me and sank deep into my heart. It was shimmering, with a noise similar to the sound of a phone left off the hook. I felt the finger of God or His hand, the Spirit, fill miles of love into my heart for Sue, and my heart woke up to true love. In the vision, I noticed that Sue’s hair was shorter, and her lipstick was very red. When I looked up, and she was standing near where I was where I saw the vision, her hair looked the same as in the vision. She had cut it during the night. When she was receiving the vision about her and me from God, she was fighting it. She was telling the Lord, “Lord, I’ve been saved and in the ministry all these years. Don’t let me lose my soul. He’s too young, and he just got saved!” The Lord told her, “Yes, but he is strong!” I’ve spoke about all this in a piece of literature entitled The Servant of the Lord.

We were headed to Las Vegas, Nevada to be married, holding hands while she was driving, when we prayed to see flying saucers. (“Lord, if there are such things, show them to us.”) This prayer was Sue’s idea! Squadrons of them came diving within an inch of the car windshield. We were married three times in Las Vegas, and first by the Lord once.

Now the Bible says, “And they heard a great voice from Heaven saying unto them [God’s two witness], Come up hither. And they ascended up to Heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them” (Rev. 11:12).

Sue and I were staying at one of the older, smaller, and more reasonably priced motels. We liked getting up in the mornings to see the beautiful sky and cloud formations in Las Vegas. We were holding hands, looking up at this huge pile-up of very white clouds, marveling at the bigness and the beauty of them, when all of a sudden, we were looking down at the same clouds. I could feel the Lord warmly and lovingly smiling, like He was enjoying our amazement. Susie dug her long fingernails slightly into my hand and said, “Do you see what I’m seeing?” I said, “Yes.” She said, “What?” I said, “We were looking up at the clouds, and now we’re looking down at them.” She said, “Yes!!”

The world hates us, as it does the two witnesses.2 Susie told me just before she died of cancer, “Tony, I’m going to die and I’ll be gone quite a long time. Then God will raise me up from the dead and we will be the two witnesses.”

She went to be with the Lord 27 years ago. She left me April 8, 1982. I’ve never in my whole life ever seen any two people more falsely accused and hated as we were and still are, with the exception of Christ, the prophets, and the apostles.3

We shall see!! If you don’t know the Lord, say this prayer and He will save you:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.
