More Dept. of Human Services Oppression

The other day, I went to my one hour weekly visit at the DHS office near Little Rock. My daughter and I were talking and she started telling me about a lot of very false, negative things her foster mom was saying about me and the church. I started to refute the accusations when the caseworker monitoring our visit said, “You can’t talk about that!” We then started talking about something else, but my daughter brought up the same subject and said that some backsliders were saying lies about me on the internet and her foster mom said I couldn’t get custody of my children.

Again, the DHS caseworker said we couldn’t talk about this. At that point I spoke up and said, “Why not? These children get bombarded with every negative lie about Tony, the church, and I all day long, every day, and when I try to tell them the truth, I’m not allowed to say anything. That’s wrong, it’s demonic.”

I then went down the hall to go to the restroom, but the caseworker told me that I had to use another restroom in the front of the building. When I went out to the front, they locked me out and terminated the rest of my visit with my children. I was told my daughter started crying, and my son stood up and said, “This case is our whole life, and we want to come home!”

Update: Since this incident, this father's visits with this three children have been completely cut off. He was told he cannot visit them again until he goes to psychological counseling and parenting classes and is "rehabilitated."

My son also said he had written out a page of encouraging scriptures to give to his sister the next time he saw her. The DHS worker saw the paper and told him to “tear it up.” He said, “Why? I took the time to research the Bible to encourage my little sister.” The DHS worker said, “She has the Bible, she can research it herself.” My son said, “I thought this was America, not Germany.”

Monday, January 12, 2009  was the first day of trial to decide the fate of 23 children from the church in DHS custody. During picketing to protest the DHS kidnapping 36 children from the church with no evidence of wrongdoing, many people stopped to talk with us.

One gentleman told us that the DHS took his children away, that he did everything he was told to do, complied with them fully, and yet his children were never returned back to him. Another woman said she completely understood, and said that she knows how cruel the DHS is. Many others had very strong opinions against the Department of Human Services.
