ANGELS

Angels are mentioned throughout the Bible. Therefore, we are able to believe in their existence and purpose, because we are saved by faith in what the WORD of GOD, the Bible, says,1 and what GOD has done, and is doing. JESUS CHRIST is the WORD of GOD.2 “In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD” (John 1:1). “And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the FATHER,) full of grace [power] and truth” (John 1:14). In the book of Revelation, JESUS is described as “clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and HIS name is called The WORD of GOD” (Revelation 19:13).

The LORD JESUS mentioned angels throughout HIS ministry. HE told of their meaning, of their purpose, and of GOD’S plan for them. One angel alone wiped out the entire army of King Sennacherib of Assyria that was coming against the nation of Israel. The angel killed 185,000 men in one night.3 Isaiah 37:36 says, “Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they [the Jews] arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.” The angel of the LORD is the LORD. GOD’S angels are sinless, immortal beings. They are said to be in great numbers, and are in close relationship with individuals, but are also in GOD’S heavenly kingdom.

In Matthew 13:37-39, in HIS parable of the sower, JESUS said, “HE that soweth the good seed [the WORD of GOD] is the SON of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one [the devil; by the millions, they are living in people today who do wickedness]; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world [not the “rapture;” the doctrine of a rapture is heresy not found in Scripture4]; and the reapers are the angels.”

JESUS warns, “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in Heaven their angels do always behold the face of MY FATHER which is in Heaven” (Matthew 18:10). JESUS also stated of men and women, “For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of GOD in Heaven” (Matthew 22:30).

JESUS said in the living WORD, “Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to MY FATHER, and HE shall presently give ME more than twelve legions of angels?” (Matthew 26:53).

JESUS reveals how the angels rejoice when people become followers of GOD in Luke 15:10: “Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of GOD over one sinner that repenteth.” JESUS stated, “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried” (Luke 16:22).

The LORD’S teachings on angels are exceedingly harmonious. To me, the history of the angels is plain. GOD created them; two thirds kept their first estate, while one third left their heavenly home to follow the devil and are doomed forever.5 Two thirds kept to GOD, while one third did not. Two thirds will spend eternity in Heaven; one third will always be tormented in Hell and the Lake of Fire. This is clear.

Just as Adam and Eve were created sinless, Satan and his fallen angels (demons) were also created sinless, but they fell by choice, just as men fall. GOD doesn’t hide this fact! “How art thou fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars [the angels] of GOD: I will sit also upon the mount [the nation of GOD] of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the MOST HIGH. Yet thou shalt be brought down to Hell, to the sides of the pit” (Isaiah 14:12-15).

The LORD also states of Satan, “Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of GOD; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of GOD: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire” (Ezekiel 28:14-16).

The fall of a third of the angels is revealed in the book of Revelation: “And there appeared another wonder in Heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars [angels, also called stars in Revelation 1:20] of Heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman [spiritual Israel, the body of CHRIST] which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born” (Revelation 12:3-4). These evil angels did not keep their own domain, but fell under GOD’S judgment and are reserved for “the judgment of the great day” (Jude 6).

It is very rational to believe in the existence of angels, which are superior in intelligence to mankind. However, the evil angels are inferior. We are commanded to believe every word found in GOD’S WORD (which is CHRIST) and we shall be saved.6 The value in believing in angels is: (1) Awareness of angels gives us a wider understanding of the spiritual realm and the variety of GOD’S creations. We are able to get a tremendous insight into the unseen world (eternity), which is the place we are heading. (2) We also receive a more truthful understanding of CHRIST, who is above the angels and the subject of angelic worship. (3) We are in part able to understand the joy and fulfillment of the will of GOD. The will of GOD will be done on earth as it is in Heaven by Christians with the help and assistance of unseen, but at times, seen angels. The Apostle Paul said, “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares” (Hebrews 13:2).

CHRIST never died to give us the right to sin.7 HE, as the HOLY SPIRIT (the COMFORTER8), gives us the power, by living in us, not to sin anymore.9 We are the bride of CHRIST, if we prepare ourselves to be holy, spotless, and without sin.10 CHRIST demands holiness.11 CHRIST loves the Church and gave HIMSELF for it, “That HE might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the WORD, That HE might present it to HIMSELF a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:26-27).

If we knowingly, willfully sin, we cannot be accepted into Heaven. The book of Hebrews states, “For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries” (Hebrews 10:26-27).

“Then said JESUS unto HIS disciples, If any man will come after ME, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow ME. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for MY sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the SON of man shall come in the glory of HIS FATHER with HIS angels; and then HE shall reward every man according to his works” (Matthew 16:24-27).

Once we repent of our sins and become born again of GOD’S SPIRIT, we have the power of the HOLY SPIRIT living within us, which gives us the ability to overcome all of Satan’s temptations.12 We also have the assistance of the angels, whose job it is to minister for us.13 We can talk directly to the FATHER GOD and ask what we will in the name of JESUS,14 so there is no excuse. The WORD states, “We are more than conquerors through HIM that loved us” (Romans 8:37).

Get to GOD now. We’re at the end of time. Don’t delay. Say this prayer to GOD right now and start your new, rewarding life filled with peace, joy, and purpose:

Prayer

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11

After salvation, JESUS said to be baptized, fully submerged in water, in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT.12 Then study the King James Version Bible, and, for your benefit and the benefit of others, do what it says.13

CHRIST and GOD the FATHER now live in you through the HOLY SPIRIT. There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of GOD in you. The more the divine nature of GOD lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that have so easily moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. Pray for the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT.14 For instructions on how to receive the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT and to receive more of GOD’S holy nature, ask for our literature or call. For without holiness, no man shall see GOD (Hebrews 12:14).

If you want the world saved, as JESUS commands, then don’t rob GOD of HIS tithes and offerings. GOD said, “Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed THEE? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation [and this whole world]. Bring ye all the tithes [a ‘tithe’ is 10% of your gross income] into the storehouse, that there may be meat [Spiritual food] in MINE house [souls saved], and prove ME now herewith, saith the LORD of HOSTS, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of HOSTS. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of HOSTS” (Malachi 3:8-12).
