THE BREAD WHICH LIVES

We don’t live by bread (from a bakery) alone; we live by the BREAD of LIFE, which comes down from HEAVEN, by every WORD which proceeds from the mouth of GOD (Deuteronomy 8:3, Matthew 4:4, Luke 4:4, John 6:35). JESUS is that WORD or BREAD of LIFE which GOD sent down from HEAVEN (John 6:51).

Moses prophesied regarding the WORD or BREAD of LIFE in Deuteronomy 18:15-22: “THE LORD thy GOD will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren [a Jew], like unto me [Moses]; unto HIM ye shall hearken; According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy GOD in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my GOD, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

“And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. [The LORD emphasizes] I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee [HE will be GOD in the flesh so that people won’t be afraid of HIM], and will put MY WORDS in HIS mouth; and HE shall speak unto them all that I shall command HIM. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto MY WORDS which HE shall speak in MY name, I will require it of him [It is because the WORDS GOD speaks, HE speaks through JESUS. JESUS, the WORD, is the BREAD of LIFE. Anyone refusing to hearken to HIM (to eat the BREAD of LIFE), his very life is required of him].

“But the prophet [the false prophet], which shall presume to speak a word in MY name, which I have NOT commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods [imitation bread], even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

After JESUS had healed a man on the Sabbath, HE found “him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, you are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. The man departed, and told the Jews that it was JESUS, which had made him whole. And therefore did the Jews persecute JESUS, and sought to slay HIM, because HE had done these things on the Sabbath day. But JESUS answered them, MY FATHER WORKS hitherto [tells ME what to do], and I work [I do what HE tells ME to do]. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill HIM, because HE not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that GOD was HIS FATHER, making HIMSELF equal with GOD. Then answered JESUS and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The SON can do nothing of HIMSELF, but what HE seeth the FATHER do: for what things soever HE doeth, these also doeth the SON likewise. [In other words, GOD and I and the HOLY SPIRIT are one GOD, and I must do what HE commands ME to do1]” (John 5:14-19).

Again, this was exactly what GOD foretold through Moses: I will raise up a prophet from among the Jews, (a human) like unto you, Moses (a Jew, not an Arab), and will put MY WORDS in HIS mouth; and HE shall speak unto them all that I shall command HIM. If people won’t listen to HIM, their life shall be required of them.

The GODHEAD fed the children of Israel forty years with manna from Heaven.2 The Jews (as the devil did3) wanted a sign from JESUS, like making manna appear again in Israel, and insinuated that it was Moses who gave them the manna. Before this, JESUS fed bread and fishes to five thousand men plus women and children, food which GOD multiplied from five small loaves of bread and two small fishes. After they were all filled, the disciples gathered up fragments which filled twelve baskets (John 6:5-13).4

JESUS answered the multitude that followed HIM to Capernaum: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, You seek ME, not because you saw the miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves, and were filled. Labour not for the meat [temporal bread from a bakery] which perishes, but for that meat [the SPIRITUAL BREAD, THE WORD of GOD] which endureth unto everlasting LIFE, which the SON of MAN shall give unto you: for HIM has GOD the FATHER sealed.

“Then said they unto HIM, What shall we do, that we might work the works of GOD? JESUS answered and said unto them, This is the WORK of GOD, that you believe on HIM whom HE has sent. They said therefore unto HIM, What sign showest THOU then, that we may see, and believe THEE? what do YOU work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, HE gave them bread from Heaven to eat.

“Then JESUS said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from Heaven; but MY FATHER gives you the TRUE BREAD from Heaven. For the BREAD of GOD is HE which cometh down from Heaven, and gives life unto the world. Then said they unto HIM, LORD, evermore give us this BREAD. And JESUS said unto them, I [THE WORD OF GOD] AM the BREAD of LIFE: he that cometh to ME shall never hunger; and he that believeth on ME shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen ME, and believe not.

“All that the FATHER gives ME shall come to ME; and him that cometh to ME I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from Heaven, not to do MINE own will, but the will of HIM that sent ME. And this is the FATHER’S will which has sent ME, that of all which HE has given ME I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of HIM that sent ME, that every one which seeth the SON, and believes on HIM, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:26-40).

In the Gospel of John, GOD speaks through the mouth of JESUS, saying, “I am that BREAD of LIFE. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the BREAD [unleavened BREAD representing NO SIN in it5] which cometh down from Heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. [This is the SOUL of GOD, HIS LIFE, which also is the WORD, which is HIS SPIRIT, and the RESURRECTION.] “I [THE WORD OF GOD] am the LIVING BREAD which came down from Heaven: if any man eat of this BREAD, he shall live for ever: and the BREAD THAT I WILL GIVE IS MY FLESH, which I will give for the LIFE of the world” (John 6:48-51).

JESUS is speaking of Holy Communion with HIM by our eating the BODY of CHRIST through faith in HIS WORD. By faith, we assimilate HIS WORDS, the SOUL of GOD, that say, “THIS IS MY BODY.” In Holy Communion, we eat HIM, HIS FLESH, and drink HIS BLOOD (HIS HOLY SPIRIT), and ABSORB HIS WORD (John 1:1, 14).

“The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us HIS flesh to eat? [Again, we do this by faith, in Holy Communion, by absorbing into our soul the WORD of GOD, which is CHRIST.] Then JESUS said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except you eat the flesh of the SON of MAN, and drink HIS blood, you have no life in you. Whoso eats MY flesh, and drinks MY blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For MY flesh is meat indeed, and MY blood is drink indeed” (John 6:52-55).

If we take Communion with sin on our soul, we mix the BODY and BLOOD of JESUS with sin.6 But if we are washed in HIS blood and living a holy life, we are no longer sinners, as the false prophets and secular people say, but we are the SONS of GOD by adoption (Galatians 4:4-6, Ephesians 2:11-19). The HOLY SPIRIT lives in us by faith (1 Corinthians 3:16). We are “a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new [because we eat the BREAD of LIFE and drink HIS BLOOD, the SPIRIT, GOD’S SOUL, daily]” (2 Corinthians 5:17). We are “kings and priests” (Revelation 1:5-6, 5:9-10); “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation” (1 Peter 2:9).

Don’t let any devil tell you that you are still a sinner if you are born again of the SPIRIT. JESUS said, “Ye must be born again [of GOD’S SPIRIT, SOUL, and LIFE]” (John 3:7).7 Water baptism does not save you, as the Catholics believe.

“He that eats MY FLESH, and drinks MY BLOOD, dwells in ME, and I in HIM. As the living FATHER has sent ME, and I live by the FATHER [THE SPIRIT of GOD and HIS SOUL]: so he that eateth ME, even he shall live by ME. This is that BREAD which came down from Heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eats of this BREAD shall live for ever [because GOD’S SPIRIT and SOUL never dies]. These things said HE in the synagogue, as HE taught in Capernaum” (John 6:56-59).

“It is the SPIRIT that quickeneth [GOD’S LIFE-GIVING SPIRIT]; the flesh profits nothing: the WORDS that I speak unto you, THEY are SPIRIT, and THEY are LIFE [and they are GOD’S SOUL, THE TRUTH]” (John 6:63).

Joshua 5:6 says, “For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness [eating manna, and are dead], till all the people who were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that HE would not show them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that HE would give us, a land that flows with milk and honey [but HE gave the land to the children].”

How can we live if we don’t listen to the WORD of GOD? JESUS told the devil, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every WORD that proceedeth out of the MOUTH OF GOD” (Matthew 4:4). If you now believe THE WORD, which is GOD’S SOUL, SPIRIT, and LIFE, JESUS, then say this prayer:

Prayer

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11

After salvation, JESUS said to be baptized, fully submerged in water, in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT.12 Then study the King James Version Bible, and, for your benefit and the benefit of others, do what it says.13

CHRIST and GOD the FATHER now live in you through the HOLY SPIRIT. There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of GOD in you. The more the divine nature of GOD lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that have so easily moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. Pray for the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT.14 For instructions on how to receive the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT and to receive more of GOD’S holy nature, ask for our literature or call. For without holiness, no man shall see GOD (Hebrews 12:14).

If you want the world saved, as JESUS commands, then don’t rob GOD of HIS tithes and offerings. GOD said, “Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed THEE? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation [and this whole world]. Bring ye all the tithes [a ‘tithe’ is 10% of your gross income] into the storehouse, that there may be meat [Spiritual food] in MINE house [souls saved], and prove ME now herewith, saith the LORD of HOSTS, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of HOSTS. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of HOSTS” (Malachi 3:8-12).
