DON’T DIE A COWARD, YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!

“For the LORD GOD is a sun and shield: the LORD will give power and glory: no good thing will HE withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of HOSTS, blessed is the man that trusteth in THEE” (Psalm 84:11-12).

Because some people don’t want GOD to withhold anything from them that is good, they may ask, “What does it mean to ‘walk uprightly’?” Let’s let GOD tell us, beginning with Deuteronomy, chapter 1, verses 17 and 21: “Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is GOD’S…Behold, the LORD thy GOD hath set the land before thee [Israel]: go up and possess it, as the LORD GOD of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged [If you are saved, you’re going to Heaven1].”

After this exhortation from the LORD, Moses rebuked them. It is written in the Bible so that everyone can see why GOD tried the Israelites by keeping them in the wilderness for forty years—one year for each of the forty days that twelve of them spied out the land (and ten of them came back to the camp with an evil report).2 Only two of the twelve came back with a good, enthusiastic report, full of faith in GOD.3 GOD wants you to know why people, HIS own chosen people, get punished and blessed—punished for lack of faith in GOD and blessed for walking uprightly with faith in GOD.4 But even HIS own chosen people? Yes! HIS own chosen people, because HE is no respecter of persons or nations!5 “The soul that sinneth, it shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20).

Moses reminded the Israelites, “Notwithstanding ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your GOD: And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, HE hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us. Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled [like Jericho6] up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims [the giants] there. [Moses said:] Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them. The LORD your GOD which goeth before you, HE shall fight for you, according to all that HE did for you in Egypt before your eyes; And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy GOD bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place. Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your GOD, Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day. And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying, Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers, Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.

“[Moses continued and said:] Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither. But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey [would be in danger of being killed], and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it. But as for you, turn you, and take your journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea.

“Then ye answered and said unto me, We have sinned against the LORD, we will go up and fight, according to all that the LORD our GOD commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill. And the LORD said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies. So I spake unto you; and ye would not hear, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD, and went presumptuously up into the hill. And the Amorites, which dwelt in that mountain, came out against you, and chased you, as bees do, and destroyed you in Seir, even unto Hormah. And ye returned and wept before the LORD; but the LORD would not hearken to your voice, nor give ear unto you. So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode there” (Deuteronomy 1:26-46).

“And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them” (Deuteronomy 2:14). After 38 years, all the older, disobedient Israelites were dead, as the LORD sware unto them. GOD is not a kidder; HE is not kidding around! “For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed. So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people, That the LORD spake unto me [Moses]” (Deuteronomy 2:15-17).

GOD began telling Moses for the children of Israel to possess the land, and also who not to distress, and who to distress. The land that belonged to Esau and the land which belonged to Lot, they were not to take.7 They could buy food from them, and water, but that was all they were given permission to do. Chapter 2, verse 21, tells that GOD destroyed the giants, the Anakims, with tiny insects (hornets),8 so that the children of Lot could possess their land and live there. This was like what God also did for the children of Esau.

So, when GOD told Israel to not destroy certain people, the young Israelis did that which HE commanded. If HE told them to destroy them, they did. The order was to destroy Sihon, the king of the Amorites, “…king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.” And the LORD told Moses, “This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee” (Deuteronomy 2:24-25).

God delivered Og, king of Bashan, into Israel’s hands. Verse 11 of chapter 3 says that Og, king of Bashan, was a giant. His bed was iron, 9 cubits long (around 14 feet) and 4 cubits wide (around 6 feet wide). “For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man” (Deuteronomy 3:11).

“And I [Moses] commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your GOD hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest. Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your GOD HE shall fight for you. And I besought the LORD at that time, saying, O LORD GOD, THOU hast begun to show THY servant THY greatness, and THY mighty hand: for what GOD is there in Heaven or in earth, that can do according to THY works, and according to THY might?” (Deuteronomy 3:21-24).

Moses prayed for GOD to let him go into the Promised Land, but GOD would not let him because he smote the rock twice instead of once.9 This was to symbolize JESUS, the ROCK OF AGES; HE was to be smitten once (die once) for our sins—not twice. But Moses smote the rock twice, which would never happen to the LORD.10 Also, he said, must “we,” Moses and Aaron, bring forth water, when it was GOD, not Moses and/or Aaron, that brought life-giving water out of the rock in the desert. As I said before, GOD is not kidding! When HE says “no,” HE means “no.”

We see that the LORD GOD commanded HIS servants to obey HIM, and if they would, HE would not withhold any good thing from them.11 “No good thing will HE withhold from them that walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11). Because they sinned, GOD warned them that they would be scattered all over the world—and they were. But GOD said that in the last days of the world, GOD would bring them back to their own land.12 They were dispersed for two thousand years, but HE brought them back in 1948 to the land that GOD gave them. The Palestinians got it into their heads that because GOD dispersed the Israelites, they could take their land, but this idea is a pipe dream. It is not scriptural.
Of course, as it is written, the world’s armies will compass Israel, GOD’S chosen people, and that is when GOD will go into killing mode against these evil people.13 They don’t want to keep GOD’S commandments, so GOD will begin HIS judgment upon the wicked people of the world.14

JESUS said in John 15:14: “Ye are MY FRIENDS, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” The books of Ezekiel, Daniel, and Revelation tell of utter destruction coming from the LORD.15 Again, GOD never kids around or cons people like the Vatican and some of their puppets, like the presidents, kings, queens, princes, and princesses do. Second Thessalonians, chapter 2, tells how GOD is currently sending strong delusion to the wicked unbelievers in the world, that they might be damned.16 They hate GOD, and the feelings are mutual.17

I love to read about GOD in HIS WORD18 because HIS WORD upholds me in all my persecutions and troubles. HE gives me great joy and power to stand, no matter what.19 What peace I have!

The Psalmist David said, “Behold, GOD is mine helper: the LORD is with them that uphold my soul. HE shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in THY truth” (Psalm 54:4-5). The WORD of GOD upholds me because it is SPIRIT and it is eternal life (John 6:63). I always want GOD to be with me. This is why I give others HIS WORD, to uphold them in these troublesome times.

The son of David is said to have been the wisest man ever. Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 12:1, “Remember now thy CREATOR in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not [I’m glad that I did], nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.” “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear GOD, and keep HIS commandments: for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Chapter 12, verse 14, states that “GOD shall bring every work into judgment [everything we have thought or done], with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

Don’t be afraid—you only live once.20 How awful to die a coward. Give yourself to the LORD now. Start out by saying this prayer:

Prayer

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11

After salvation, JESUS said to be baptized, fully submerged in water, in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT.12 Then study the King James Version Bible, and, for your benefit and the benefit of others, do what it says.13

CHRIST and GOD the FATHER now live in you through the HOLY SPIRIT. There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of GOD in you. The more the divine nature of GOD lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that have so easily moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. Pray for the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT.14 For instructions on how to receive the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT and to receive more of GOD’S holy nature, ask for our literature or call. For without holiness, no man shall see GOD (Hebrews 12:14).

If you want the world saved, as JESUS commands, then don’t rob GOD of HIS tithes and offerings. GOD said, “Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed THEE? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation [and this whole world]. Bring ye all the tithes [a ‘tithe’ is 10% of your gross income] into the storehouse, that there may be meat [Spiritual food] in MINE house [souls saved], and prove ME now herewith, saith the LORD of HOSTS, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of HOSTS. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of HOSTS” (Malachi 3:8-12).
