GOD IS THE GOD OF GOOD AND EVIL

Behold “the WORD of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, LORD GOD! Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to DELIVER THEE, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth HIS hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put MY words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant” (Jeremiah 1:4-10). Praise the LORD!
I think that we can physically, this afternoon, see what was happening here and hear the WORDS of the LORD verbally as they came down from the Heavens unto this great and mighty prophet, Jeremiah. He was the crying prophet, the prophet so often referred to as the prophet of doom. He was the prophet that was called at an hour of destruction, when the world was in turmoil, chaos, and confusion, when people were turning to idols, and the voice of the LORD had been stilled in the earth. But you notice how, in each generation, GOD raised up a prophet and sent them forth unto the people to warn them of the impending doom and of all the wrath of the living GOD.
The “GOD is love” message is something that has been around since the Garden of Eden, because that is where it started. When Satan came in all of his subtlety to tempt the first two creatures of GOD, he looked at the blessings GOD had put upon their lives as HE had placed them in this paradise, in this garden, where HE had made everything perfect for them, where their every desire, their every wish was granted to them, and they’d been made perfect by the hand of the living GOD (Genesis 2:8-17). But then came the evil one to question the ALMIGHTY GOD, and Eve said, “The LORD GOD said that we should not eat of this tree, for in the day that we eat thereof, in that day we shall surely die.” Satan rebuked even the WORDS of the living GOD as he looked around, and he mocked the perfection of GOD. He said, “Do you really believe that a holy GOD, a GOD of love, would create you, blow HIS own breath into your body and set you here in this garden of paradise, and then actually take your life and condemn your soul if you touch the tree that GOD HIMSELF has set before your eyes?” This was the first message of love. “Why, GOD loves you. GOD would never do such a thing to you.” But it was written, and GOD had said. And as GOD had said, thus HE performed.1
I think this is the fine line between reality and wishful thinking on the part of people who are never really willing to pay the price and to shape up before GOD (keeping GOD’S commandments) and always grasping for an escape. You realize that death and eternity has made psychiatry the richest profession in the world because this is the area that man is always trying to escape—the reality of death and the reality of eternity.2 In a childish manner, this is doing away with death, and many psychiatrists have made a replacement of JESUS CHRIST and have attempted to become the mediator between GOD and man.3 But life is a reality, a cold, hard, stark reality. Remember, GOD said that HE created good and HE created evil (Isaiah 45:7). For HE is GOD. HE is Sovereign, the MasterMind, the Master Plan, the ALPHA, the OMEGA, the Beginning, and the End, and all things, all powers, are subject unto the ALMIGHTY GOD, whether it be the power of good or the power of evil.4
I think to see a person vibrant, alive, young, accomplishing what the world would call great accomplishments, and then suddenly see his life cut down, maybe by an automobile accident, maybe by an airplane accident, is difficult. But look into the casket at the face of a dead person and realize this also is GOD.5 Not only was HE the GOD that created the vibrant life, but the GOD who allowed that life to be cut down and to become no more than the very dirt of the ground. Remember that HE is always the ALMIGHTY, the SOVEREIGN, the ULTIMATE END of all things, and that the plans of the universe are subject to HIM, whether good or evil.6
Always, from the beginning of time, in every decade, GOD has raised up a people, and HE has raised up a prophet. As the WORD of GOD came unto Jeremiah when he sought the face of the LORD, and the LORD GOD spoke to him, “I have put MY WORDS in thy mouth” (Jeremiah 1:9). I think any Bible student, any person who knows the pleading of this prophet of GOD, telling people to humble themselves, to get down before the ALMIGHTY GOD, and to know the wrath of GOD was coming upon the face of the earth—I think any person who is a Bible student would know that these were the WORDS of the living GOD put into the mouth of the prophet while he was yet in his mother’s womb.
Did the ALMIGHTY SOVEREIGN will of GOD suddenly take a revision with Jeremiah? Did it suddenly take an about-face? Did GOD start doing things differently at the time HE spoke to Jeremiah than GOD did before Jeremiah or after Jeremiah, or is HE what HE says HE is? Is HE the same yesterday, today, and forever? I believe, I accept, I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that HE is the GOD of the impossible.7 HE is the same GOD who never changes. HE is the same yesterday, HE is the same today, and HE is the same forever.8 Amen, Amen, Amen!
I am often amused at the mind of man and astounded at the mind of GOD. Man is amusing, but GOD is astounding! Amen! Man is prone to stereotype. Man has an idea of what GOD should do, but GOD never complies with man in the manner that man has set his little plans or his patterns.9 Man would like to have GOD do things his way, from the GOD is love message, until “Woe! Woe! Woe!” in the book of Revelation, down to the very end of time.
Every one of us today that is called, washed in the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST, anointed by the SPIRIT of the living GOD are the same people that GOD was talking to when HE spoke to HIS servant Jeremiah. For JESUS CHRIST knew us from before the foundation of the earth and anointed us, called us from our mother’s womb. It’s the truth, the WORD of GOD said so.10
Moses was a servant of GOD in the Bible, one of the first men called by GOD.11 Why, he was a heretic, a rebel, and an outcast. Moses hardly even knew that he was a Jew, and here was his brother Aaron, the high priest. Now, man would have said, “GOD, YOU are making a mistake, wait a minute. Moses is an old man. Why, he isn’t even a religious man. But now, his brother, Aaron, now there’s a man of GOD. Now there’s a man that you could use, GOD. Now wait a minute. Let us reason with YOU. Why, YOU’RE making an awful mistake.” But, while Moses, the prophet of GOD, the anointed of the ALMIGHTY, was on the mountain talking face to face with GOD, the religious priest was down under the mountain helping the people to make an idol of gold. Amen?
Man likes to stereotype. Everything to him has to be of a plan of the way that he would see it. As I said before, man is amusing, and his ideas are amusing. Like so many writers, so many motion picture people, ah, how they would give anything in the world today to see some long-haired youth, somebody that had been a rock and roll star, somebody that had gained some amount of fame out in the world, and suddenly, they’re a dynamic Hellfire and brimstone preacher! “Oh,” they would say, “look at that,” because everything is cast upon youth today and this is the way it’s going to have to be. Oh, how astounding it would be to see something like this happen. HE didn’t do it that way, and I’m going to stand here today, recorded before GOD, and say to you, it’s not going to be that way. It’s going to be just the opposite of anything that you would imagine it should or could be. That’s exactly what it’s not going to be because GOD said that everything HE does is to confound you, to confuse you.12 That’s what it’s all about, to confound you. I’ll make you stop, and I’ll make you listen because I’ll confound you. Do you have some Hellfire and brimstone leader in the youth field? Thus saith the LORD, the WORD of GOD says, suffer not a novice to teach or preach, and that eliminates that.13 Each and every youth of today, anointed and called of the living GOD, is a vibrant point and part of the last hours of this universe and truly the LORD GOD has put HIS WORDS in their mouths. What are HIS WORDS? Here it is. This is it. Nothing new, there is no kind of a new message. I’m sorry to tell you this. They’re going to bring back the same message that GOD put into the mouth of HIS prophet, Jeremiah. HE’s the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). “Though Heaven and earth pass away, MY WORD shall always stand,” thus saith the LORD.14
I could imagine the people in the time of John the Baptist. The world was in semi-revolution. There was an uprising in the churches, and man was seeking the voice of GOD. They were seeking. They were looking for someone that would come and would bring the WORD of the LORD. There were hearts that were burdened and full of despair, hungering to be nourished from the WORDS from the mouth of the living GOD. There was a dryness in the land, and there was an uprising among the people, the churches. The temples that had professed to keep the laws of GOD had completely demolished and destroyed the laws that the ALMIGHTY GOD had given unto them. But, could you imagine what the reaction would be of a group of people, even religious leaders in long black robes, when they saw this long-haired, wild-looking creature, coming out of the wilderness, screaming, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:1-2)? “GOD, what are YOU doing? What are YOU doing to us? Why, YOU’RE making an awful mistake. Who in the world is going to pay any attention to that maniac? He is an outcast. Why, for Heaven’s sake, he’s been up in the mountains, up there all these years with the wild animals. Why, he isn’t even a part of the religious proper order of today. You are making a mistake, GOD. Listen to us. Don’t do it, I’m telling you, nobody is going to believe him, nobody’s going to pay any attention to him.” Ah, but they did believe him. He had his little baptismal services down by the river, and all of a sudden, the people began to come, the people that had a heart that was hungry for GOD. They began to come in robes, in white clothes, in short clothes, and long clothes, and short hair, and long hair, and turbans, and no hats, and they lined up to be baptized, because GOD had put HIS WORDS in the mouth of HIS prophet, and the people believed. They knew they had heard from GOD. “Repent, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!
And then came the religious people. “GOD, what are YOU doing? There’s our church members. Why, there’s the cults, and there’s the Jews, and the Gentiles, and the blacks, and the whites and the Orientals. Do something about this man. Do something about him, GOD. He’s caused a mess. We told YOU. YOU should never have done it, never should YOU have done it.” But the prophet of GOD didn’t have a message of love. He looked upon the bank, and he saw this bunch in their long black robes. “Hey,” he said, “you bunch of hypocrites, you bunch of snakes, you vipers. Who sent for you? Who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” (Matthew 3:7-12). “This message is for the people of GOD.” Amen? For the people of GOD. “I never sent for you.”
“John, appease the people, appease them, appease them. Now you know something, you’ve been bringing some awful division between the king and his wife. (Become politically correct.) Appease them; they’re looking for trouble.”
“Go back and tell him what I said. He is an adulterer, and he is a murderer, and so is his wife, and they’re both going to spend eternity in Hell and the Lake of Fire.”
“John, you’re the forerunner of JESUS CHRIST, the LAMB of GOD. For, JESUS is love.” “I love them who fear ME,” thus saith the LORD. “I love them who fear ME and keep MY commandments.”15
We’re a people today, starved for reality. We’re dying for truth. We’re tired, and we’re sick of war, bloodshed, hatred, all these things that the evil one has conjured up in our midst.
We’re a people that want to hear from GOD. GOD, we can tell by looking at man that it isn’t a world of love. It’s a world of political lies. We’re sick, we’re tired, we’re fed up with dope, illusion, and disillusion. We’re sick of everything in the world but cold, hard, stark reality. We want to hear from GOD. What does HE say? What does HE say? HE said, “When you see all these signs, you know that the end draweth nigh. Earthquakes in diverse places, all over the world, wars and rumors of wars, hate, famine, all these things, and the armies of the world gathered around Jerusalem, then you know that the end draweth nigh.”16
This is the day of the LORD. Repent, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. For the LORD GOD has put HIS words in our mouths that we should speak to you. JESUS CHRIST, the SON of the living GOD, the CRUCIFIED ONE, HE who was as meek as a lamb and shed HIS BLOOD, is coming back again, but HE isn’t coming back meek this time. HE is coming back the CROWNED, the KING of GLORY, the ECCLESIATICAL GODHEAD of the Heavens and of the earth.17 JESUS is coming back to earth again. If this were the day that you knew that HE was coming, would you be ready to meet HIM?
This isn’t a message of love from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. It’s a message of reality, truth. The only truth upon the face of this earth. It’s all there. GOD didn’t leave us ignorant to HIS ways and to HIS personality. Jesus will come this time as the KING of Kings and the LORD of Lords. HE will come as your SAVIOR, your DELIVERER, or HE will come as your CONDEMNER. The choice is yours.18 When you know the TRUTH, the TRUTH shall set you free. JESUS said that HE is the TRUTH, that HE is LIFE.19 And this afternoon, as we sing this old gospel song, we ask you to come, to kneel at the foot of the cross, to ask JESUS to come into your heart. Ask HIM to be your personal SAVIOR. HE loves them who fear HIM and keep HIS commandments. This is the love of GOD unto us, that HIS BLOOD was shed, that we might have LIFE and have it more abundantly. Say this prayer:

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11
