HOW TO SERVE GOD

Contrast what Christians do today in comparison to what the Bible says they are supposed to do. If Christians follow the Bible, they will be able to go to Heaven. Let me illustrate what the Bible says we are to do if we really want to go to Heaven, if we really are Christians. Here is a brief outline.

The Apostle Paul stated in the book of Acts, chapter 20,“Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of GOD. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the HOLY SPIRIT hath made you overseers, to feed the church of GOD [with the WORD of GOD], which HE hath purchased with HIS own blood” (Acts 20:26-28). When you purchase anything, it belongs to you to use any way you want to use it. The original Bible calls us slaves, not servants. We are to do what our LORD bids us to do (again, because HE purchased us with HIS own blood). But some don’t believe; therefore, the wolves (devils) devour the flock, and Christians are to be blamed because of it.

Paul continues, “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.”

“And now, brethren, I commend you to GOD, and to the WORD of HIS grace [it’s time to work by the SPIRIT, HIS power], which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. I have showed you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the LORD JESUS, how HE said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

“And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him, Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more” (Acts 20:29-38).

Remember the words of JESUS (and we are to obey HIM in everything): “And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto ME in Heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:18-20). The LORD plainly said HE would be with us. Remember the words of the LORD JESUS.

My wife, Susie, and I have always kept our church operating the way the church operated two thousand years ago in the book of Acts.1 The worldly, anti-GOD, anti-CHRIST government hates when a church lives like the book of Acts. Ours is successful, because it puts everything of the world down. The world government, the U.N., is run by Satan, the devil. The books of Daniel and Revelation both testify that the last carnal government destroys the world  that GOD created.2

This is why we operate the church according to GOD’S economic principles, exactly like the book of Acts. We don’t live by bread alone (from a bakery), but by every WORD that proceeds from the mouth of JESUS CHRIST, the WORD of GOD (Matthew 4:4).3

Susie and I were not able to afford expensive homes for the people we were winning to the LORD to live in, so we had to institute the way the early Christian church lived as written in the book of Acts. We were winning thousands of souls to the LORD, mostly hippies, and they had to have a place to live. Formerly, they were sleeping on the streets, in parks, and on toilet seats in gas stations. They were all hungry, and needed nutritious food. Like the book of Acts, we began to live communally. We had all things in common, and after around half a century, forty-eight years, no one has been hungry, and everyone has a place to sleep and serve GOD (Acts 2:44-47, 4:32-37). Susie and I moved into a sixty-five dollar a month shack behind a gas station in Hollywood, California.

Acts 2:16 states, “This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith GOD, I will pour out of MY SPIRIT upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall PROPHESY, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on MY servants and on MY handmaidens I will pour out in those days of MY SPIRIT; and they shall prophesy: And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the LORD come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD [who is the WORD] shall be saved” (Acts 2:16-21).

Like the Apostles, Susie and I had agreed to give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the WORD. We were on the streets of Hollywood Blvd. and the Sunset Strip every day and night. This is when the Watts riots were going on, and the hippies were saying, “Let’s burn down L.A. and kill the pigs (cops).” Susie and I trained the hippies that we had led to the LORD, armed with bags full of gospel tracts, to warn people to repent because JESUS CHRIST is coming back to earth. We were threatened with guns, knives, fists, death, prison—you name it, we’ve gone through it all. This is not the way the Christians of today conduct themselves. Susie and I have held two services every day since 1964, and our people are on the streets every day witnessing and testifying. This is like the Christians in the book of Acts, not the supposed-to-be Christians of today.

We pooled the money that the brothers and sisters made, and we built the most beautiful and comfortable homes for them that anyone could dream of. Our food was the best in the nation. When I was young, I worked under the chef of the Waldorf Astoria. His name was Novis. He became the chef of the Northern Hotel in Billings, Montana. Les Carter was the president of the North Western hotel chain, and was always proud of the food at his hotel. Chef Novis was Japanese, but his skills were international. I learned the skills, and taught some of our people. We also hired the chef from the Tulsa Hilton Hotel. We compiled our knowledge, and the food at our Alamo restaurant in Alma, Arkansas, was the most delicious anywhere! Our whole church ate there for years. The restaurant was regularly packed with customers. It held one thousand people, especially when we had entertainers like Dolly Parton, Marty Robbins, and many others.

On top of being the best preacher I’ve ever heard, my late wife, Susie, also was a top-of-the-line interior decorator. She bought the furniture for everyone’s houses or apartments from the top-of-the-line furniture manufacturers. Nothing was too good for our brothers and sisters. Even though we were called the hippie ministry, we were also called the Rolls Royce ministry, and people knew it. And during this time to the present, we were visiting nursing homes and preaching on the streets.

We had our own TV program for ten years and were on radio. We were on radio all over the world, in places such as Africa, India, USA, Mexico, and Canada.

When I didn’t believe in JESUS or GOD, I never dreamed that I would be doing what I’ve been doing since 1964. GOD did it for me, and I thank GOD for showing me the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE (John 14:6). The pattern of how to be a Christian, and what Christians are supposed to do, and how to live is laid out perfectly in the Bible, in the book of Acts, and throughout the Old and New Testaments.4

Sure, people do lie about us, but they also lied about JESUS.5 HE said they would, but He said eternal life should be far more important, that we shouldn’t grieve over persecution, slander and lies, but that we should rejoice over these things we must go through.6

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with GOD through our LORD JESUS CHRIST” (Romans 5:1). We are justified by GOD enough to enter HEAVEN. We have faith in everything GOD in JESUS says, which again is the Bible, the WORD of GOD.7 By faith in the WORD of GOD, we have peace through our LORD JESUS CHRIST. “[HE] By whom also we have access by faith into this power wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of GOD. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience [makes you patient]” (Romans 5:2-3 ). We must have enough patience to continue on through the persecution, trials, and tribulations, even unto death, if necessary.8 The people in today’s churches need to repent and get busy for GOD, or they will be in Hell for eternity. Almost all churches will fall short. Pray that the fear of the LORD will come upon them, if you know how to pray. If you don’t, praying is just talking to GOD.

On the day of Pentecost, after the one hundred twenty Christians were filled with the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT, the Apostle Peter, by the HOLY SPIRIT anointing him, explained the resurrection of JESUS to the crowd and showed them that they were responsible for HIS death, the very ONE who will judge them all on the day of judgment. They were all convicted and filled with fear. After they heard that they were responsible for the death of JESUS, they were pricked in their hearts and said unto PETER and the rest of the Apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off [Jews and Gentiles even to this day], even as many as the LORD our GOD shall call. [False churches today say that the gift of the HOLY SPIRIT was only for the Apostles of that time, but the HOLY SPIRIT says it is for all that are far off, such as ourselves today.] And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. [Now, many people today may think that all these things are old-fashioned and do not apply any longer. If that’s the way you think, you are dead wrong. These words are the pattern of how the real church operates, no matter how long time goes on.] And they [these three thousand new converts with the others] continued steadfastly in the Apostles’ doctrine [which was given to them by the LORD] and fellowship, and in breaking of bread [living the life], and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the Apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread [living the life] from house to house, did eat their food with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising GOD, and having favor with all the people. And the LORD added to the church daily such as should be saved” (Acts 2:37-47).

You rarely see people today full of gladness and happiness, filled with peace and joy no matter how much they do or don’t have, but that’s the way it was with them and still is with us, even while we are blistered with persecution and lies. None of us and none of them have ever had need, but you unsaved people and false Christians are worried to death and many are depressed, even committing suicide. Won’t you come to the LORD and receive the LORD’S peace, which passes knowledge, and live the life that CHRIST has patterned for you and us as outlined in the book of Acts and throughout the Bible?9 Nothing has really changed. The WORD of the LORD is the same yesterday, today, and forever.10 To be born again of the SPIRIT, say this prayer and join the continuation of the book of Acts :

Prayer

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11

After salvation, JESUS said to be baptized, fully submerged in water, in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT.12 Then study the King James Version Bible, and, for your benefit and the benefit of others, do what it says.13

CHRIST and GOD the FATHER now live in you through the HOLY SPIRIT. There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of GOD in you. The more the divine nature of GOD lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that have so easily moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. Pray for the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT.14 For instructions on how to receive the baptism in the HOLY SPIRIT and to receive more of GOD’S holy nature, ask for our literature or call. For without holiness, no man shall see GOD (Hebrews 12:14).

If you want the world saved, as JESUS commands, then don’t rob GOD of HIS tithes and offerings. GOD said, “Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed THEE? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation [and this whole world]. Bring ye all the tithes [a ‘tithe’ is 10% of your gross income] into the storehouse, that there may be meat [Spiritual food] in MINE house [souls saved], and prove ME now herewith, saith the LORD of HOSTS, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of HOSTS. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of HOSTS” (Malachi 3:8-12).
