NEVER SAY I CAN’T GO ON ANY LONGER!

by Tony Alamo

Never say, “I can’t go on any longer,” because you can if you trust in the powerful faith of Christ. Tomorrow the sun is going to shine, because Jesus will be there. He will never leave or forsake you.1 When you become stronger in His faith, you’ll love all Godly things. Jesus said, “Take up the cross [your cross], and follow Me [you’ll be happy when you do]” (Mark 10:21b).

Have faith in the faith of Christ. You will be able to “endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” (2 Timothy 2:3-4).

In Matthew 16:24, Jesus said “unto His disciples, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Jesus denied Himself all His life, as we are to do, and even unto His death on the cross. For His self-denial, He is exalted.2

Colossians 1:18-23: “And He [Christ] is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by [faith in] Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in Heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled In the body of His flesh through death, to present you Holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight: If ye continue in the faith [of Christ] grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.”

Jesus said in Luke 14:11, “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” Acts 5:30-31 says, “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with HIS right hand to be a Prince [‘Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth’ (Revelation 1:5)] and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel [believers], and forgiveness of sins.”

When Peter spoke by the Holy Spirit in Acts 5:29, he said, “We ought to obey God [as Jesus did] rather than men.” This also applies to ourselves. Never say, “I can’t go on any longer.” That is what you say when you live solely for yourself, always feeling sorry for yourself because you don’t have Christ who is your everything. We all have suffered! Let our suffering be for Christ and in Christ. For you will enjoy the paradise of Heaven forever!3

We will have tribulation!4 God, in His mercy for your soul, will begin taking many things away from you so that you’ll become more reliant on Him, like gold tried in the fire.5 When you let Him use you even in a small way, then in a bigger way, as He currently is doing with many others, He will at first take away all the things you don’t need. He will use you greatly if you no longer say, “I can’t go on any longer.”

“All flesh is grass” (Isaiah 40:6, 1 Peter 1:24). Life is very short6 and eternity is forever.7 It is necessary to prepare for the long life, which is eternity!

Again, “The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye [and we] slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with His right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel [believers], and forgiveness of sins. And we are His witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey Him” (Acts 5:30-32).

When you’re lonely and your heart is filled with despair, it’s because you’ve forgotten that you have a Savior. You’re not alone; Jesus is always with you.8 Just call on the name of Jesus; He will be with you. Oh, how precious is the name and presence of Jesus. He will hear you every time you call, and fellowship with you!! Every time you call, He will pick you up. Call His name in the morning; call Him in the noon time, and in the evening, call on Him.9

Jesus is our hope for today and for tomorrow. Never trust in yourself or anyone else. Trust only in Jesus!10 There is no friend to you like Jesus. He is the King of kings, and the Lord of lords.11

“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing [don’t be afraid to do exactly what the Lord says]; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7).

Let us always think like Christ, who is God.12 The Lord says, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him [on His ability] should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Let’s shout about it! Laugh and rejoice for joy about it! And talk about it. Let’s speak to our situations through Jesus, and change our situations!

Don’t be afraid of anything. Life is too short to be afraid, too short to not trust God. Don’t cry. Stop crying, dry your eyes. It’s not over if you have faith in your new life, which is Christ. It will come to pass. Through Christ, you have the power and authority to change your circumstances!13 You may have fallen down. Susie always said, “Even a pig, when it falls in the mud, gets up and shakes itself off.” You’re not a pig, so get up and get going for God. Run—don’t walk—back to Jesus, and stay with Him forever! Be renewed, saved, born again of the Spirit. Start out now by saying this prayer:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God with Christ on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God in Christ on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, submit yourselves one to another, and do what the Word says so that the church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God’s Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God bless and reward you abundantly.

Yours in the wonderful name of Jesus,
Pastor Tony Alamo
