PERFECT PEACE

Perfect peace, the kind you are able to sleep soundly with, comes by perfect love.1 The WORD of GOD tells us that if we love GOD, we keep HIS commandments.2 JESUS said, “If ye keep MY commandments, ye shall abide in MY love; even as I have kept MY FATHER’S commandments, and abide in HIS love” (John 15:10).
The Apostle John stated, “By this we know that we love the children of GOD, when we love GOD, and keep HIS commandments. For this is the love of GOD, that we keep HIS commandments: and HIS commandments are not grievous” (1 John 5:2-3).
The LORD JESUS said, “If a man love ME, he will keep MY words: and MY FATHER will love him, and WE will come unto him, and make OUR abode with him. HE that loveth ME not keepeth not MY sayings: and the WORD which ye hear is not MINE, but the FATHER’S which sent ME. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the COMFORTER, which is the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the FATHER will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, MY peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:23-27).
When you know you’re constantly doing what is pleasing to GOD, you know you’re saved, and if while sleeping, you die, you have no fear. You know you’re in good standing with the LORD, and you know you’ll be in Heaven forever.
In the tenth chapter of Matthew, JESUS instructed HIS disciples before sending them to preach about the kingdom of Heaven. HE said, “And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. And when ye come into a house, salute it. And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it [your peace is from GOD]: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for MY sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the SPIRIT of your FATHER which speaketh in you. And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for MY name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 10:11-22).
“It is enough for the disciple that he be as his MASTER, and the servant as his LORD. If they have called the MASTER of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of HIS household?... And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear HIM which is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell” (Matthew 10:25, 28).
“For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than ME is not worthy of ME: and he that loveth son or daughter more than ME is not worthy of ME. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after ME is not worthy of ME. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for MY sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth ME, and he that receiveth ME receiveth HIM that sent ME” (Matthew 10:35-40).
Mark 4:37-41 shows that CHRIST is the GOD of peace:3 “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And HE was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake HIM, and say unto HIM, MASTER, carest THOU not that we perish? And HE arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And HE said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey HIM?”
If we want true, lasting peace, we must put a complete end to our lives of sin and make JESUS the LORD of our lives.4 Once we are born again of the SPIRIT of GOD, who is also the COMFORTER,5 the life and peace of GOD will dwell in us, and no matter what happens, we will have true peace, knowing GOD is with us and in us. JESUS made peace available for us through the blood HE shed on the cross for our sins (Colossians 1:20). HE promised to never leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).
“But now in CHRIST JESUS ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of CHRIST. For HE is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in HIS flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in HIMSELF of twain one new man, so making peace; And that HE might reconcile both unto GOD in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through HIM we both have access by one SPIRIT unto the FATHER. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of GOD; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the LORD: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of GOD through the SPIRIT” (Ephesians 2:13-22).
The book of Revelation speaks of the last days of this world and the return of the LORD to earth. It states, “There went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword” (Revelation 6:4). We are currently living in this hour, the most dangerous time ever. We know that the WORD of GOD is true and everything written therein will come to pass. However, even during the darkest of times, those who trust the LORD and walk with HIM in holiness will maintain an inner peace and strength that only the SPIRIT of GOD can give.6
People hope for and talk of having peace. They say, “Peace, peace; when there is no peace” (Jeremiah 6:14). Why? Because the LORD departs from those who reject the peace HE offers.7 “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the LORD so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape” (1 Thessalonians 5:2-3).
JESUS assures us, “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). “And the peace of GOD, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through CHRIST JESUS” (Philippians 4:7).
The book of Isaiah prophesied of the MESSIAH, JESUS: “For unto us a CHILD is born, unto us a SON is given: and the government shall be upon HIS shoulder: and HIS name shall be called WONDERFUL, COUNSELLOR, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, THE PRINCE OF PEACE” (Isaiah 9:6).
GOD forbid that you should die or be killed unexpectedly, and you have not made JESUS CHRIST your LORD and SAVIOR, and remained in communion with HIM. If you don’t repent and have your sins forgiven by the blood sacrifice of JESUS, you will spend eternity in Hell and the Lake of Fire.8
JESUS said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of GOD” (John 3:3). No one would ever want to be in the inconceivable tortures of Hell forever, so give yourself, all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength to the LORD.9 Repent of your sins, receive HIS forgiveness, and be spiritually reborn by saying this prayer to JESUS now:
Prayer
My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11
After salvation, JESUS said to be baptized, fully submerged in water, in the name of the FATHER, and of the SON, and of the HOLY SPIRIT.12 Then study the King James Version Bible, and, for your benefit and the benefit of others, do what it says.13
CHRIST and GOD the FATHER now live in you through the HOLY SPIRIT. There is a way you can receive a fuller portion of the divine nature of GOD in you. The more the divine nature of GOD lives in you, the more you will be able to stand against the temptations that have so easily moved so many millions of Christians away from salvation. If you want the world saved, as JESUS commands, then don’t rob GOD of HIS tithes and offerings. GOD said, “Will a man rob GOD? Yet ye have robbed ME. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed THEE? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed ME, even this whole nation [and this whole world]. Bring ye all the tithes [a ‘tithe’ is 10% of your gross income] into the storehouse, that there may be meat [Spiritual food] in MINE house [souls saved], and prove ME now herewith, saith the LORD of HOSTS, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of HOSTS. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of HOSTS” (Malachi 3:8-12).
