REGENERATION

by Tony Alamo

When God through visions gave my now deceased wife Sue and I to each other, I was a new Christian. It was very hard for me to believe that God would give her to a person like me, a person who had been so worldly, so deep in sin, and so newly saved. She had been in the ministry for over twenty five years at that time. She was a very proper, elegant, highly spiritual woman, a straightforward, no-nonsense woman and I was just the opposite. I had just been saved, yanked out of the record, motion picture and marketing industries by the Lord. I was considered by many to be a wild man that needed taming. My opinion of her was that she was a great chosen vessel of God, a saint, while I had just been pulled out of the pit of sin and was a babe in the gospel field. It just didn’t seem possible that she and I could ever be man and wife.

Before salvation I never felt inferior to anyone, let alone a woman. But until the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which totally changed me during my vision, I felt terribly inferior to her. During the vision I was given a new heart. Innumerable questions came out of my heart concerning this, as well as innumerable questions pertaining to the future. All these were answered by the Holy Spirit. 1 God answered, filling me so quickly I didn’t know what the answers were until the situations came up through the years. But when problems arose, I knew how to handle them all because of what God planted in me during that vision. I felt quite confident to not only be her husband but also to pastor the church because of the gift and the dispensation God gave me.

God’s life entered me. I knew that Susan was my mate, and she knew I was hers because of her vision. The Lord told me this in my vision while I was in my state of doubt. He emphasized this with rings of the Holy Spirit coming from above and circling me, saying, "It’s true, it’s true, it’s true, it’s true, it’s true," many times while showing me our images together and filling my heart with love for her. We were unmistakably man and wife in the vision. He branded this vision of us in my mind, my heart, and my soul by the power of His divine operation with a loud, penetrating sound like the sound of a phone off the hook, so supernaturally loud it pierced through every part of my being. This vision is more elaborated on in literature I’ve written entitled The Servant of the Lord and God’s Two Witnesses. 2

Susan had pastored churches for many years, and I was in awe of her depth of the knowledge of God’s life living in her as well as her knowledge of the law of God’s Spirit, the law of life, which pertains to the life of God. She knew the Bible. She talked to God, and God talked back to her all the time. I don’t believe there ever was another person in the world like her. I never will, because I’ve never seen anyone else like this to this very day. There have never been two people put together by God in holy matrimony in a more supernatural and a more sure way than Sue and myself. This miracle is on the same par as God’s joining together of Adam and Eve. 3

I was not surprised when the Lord told me to listen to her, although it was very hard for me to do this at times because of my former experiences with females. After watching Susan for quite a length of time, I found out that she was not like the other females I had known. This made it easy to follow that command of the Lord most of the time.

THEY DON’T LAUGH ANYMORE

Sue and I had been married for approximately three years at the time just before the outpouring of the Spirit on us, gendering what the world calls the Jesus movement, which has spread throughout the entire earth and is continuing to grow. Before this, the Lord spoke to me in a church service, telling me to wrap up my final marketing plans with the singer Rouvaun whom I owned. He was signed to my record company, and I promoted and managed him in the record, music, and motion picture industries.

When I was first saved, I no longer wanted anything to do with any kind of business other than the work of the Lord. However, Susan told me that the Lord had spoken to her and told her I should do this final marketing strategy because so many people in the entertainment industry thought I was crazy for becoming saved and leaving what they called the most brilliant career in show business history.

Before and after those days, God showed me many supernatural signs, wonders, visions and dreams. He also spoke to me a lot, many times audibly. Of course, He always speaks from His Word. 4 Those who study and believe what they are reading are hearing from Him as well.

After purchasing a house with a view of the ocean in Zuma Beach with some of the money received from this endeavor, Susie told me we had to sell the house and move into a $65 a month shack behind a filling station in Hollywood so that we would not be concerned about finances any longer. In this way, she said, we would be able to spend all our time in the ministry and to think only of the Lord and His work. This was a very irritating pill for me to swallow at that time. But it pleased me very much when the Lord spoke to me, telling me to wrap it up, get out of the music and motion picture industries once and for all, and just do His work. I was relieved and very happy.

The career of this singer that I had marketed had been extremely successful. At first the industry laughed at me because he was an opera singer and the Beatles and Rolling Stones were the biggest things going at that time. I got him a five-year contract as star of the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas with three consecutive five-year options signed by Major Riddle, who was president of the Dunes Hotel at the time. Rouvaun, a virtual unknown, became the star of the Casino de Paris show with a cast of over one hundred people from Paris, France. I also got him a major long term contract with RCA Victor Records for several albums and singles per year. Afterwards, I booked him on five Jack Benny birthday party national television programs, booked him on The Ed Sullivan Show, booked him into the Ambassador Hotel’s Coconut Grove, booked him into the Royal Box at the Americana Hotel on Sixth Avenue in New York City when it first opened, got him a prestigious appearance at the London Palladium in London, England, and got him a potential movie contract to do the life story of Mario Lanza. Lanza’s mother said she loved the idea and was willing to sign the contracts.

The record industry wasn’t laughing any longer. Nor did they think I was crazy anymore. They thought it was spectacular that I had taken a person who was working for a very small salary in a woodworking factory and made him a brilliant star within ninety days. They knew I had retained what they believed to be an unbelievable ability to promote anything at any time, in any place, even to promote an opera singer in the middle of a rock and roll era. Many artists wanted me back in the industry, and so did the record and motion picture industries. Others, such as the late President John Kennedy and his brother Bobby, agreed with them, wanting me to run their campaigns for president of the United States. I was instrumental in the careers of Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and Sonny and Cher. I had proven to the industry that I still had all my mental faculties and that the really smart people serve the Lord.

Because of all the abilities I know I possess, it always irks me when people accuse me of exploiting people for money, filthy lucre. All these years I have owned a Beatles album worth over $50 million. I have never sold it to this day. In 1964 I earned it from Pete Best, the original drummer of the Beatles before Ringo, as payment for the promotion I did for him. At the same time I promoted his new album and group, "Best of the Beatles."

It was time to wrap up the entire business of that which I now hated and get into what I really loved, which was and is a life of serving God with His life in His Spirit doing His mighty works in me. The message to quit the industry came twice within minutes through several people’s gifts from God of tongues and interpretations. 5 These were people I had never met before, and I don’t believe that they knew me at all. They were telling me secret truths about myself that no one knew but Sue and I. I knew it was the Lord speaking to me, because when a message is directed at anyone when given by tongues and interpretations, there is a supernatural event that happens throughout your entire body, letting you know the message is to you. His voice penetrates into every fiber of your spirit, soul, and body. 6 This gave me great respect for God’s gifts of tongues and interpretations.

THE GREAT OUTPOURING CALLED "THE JESUS MOVEMENT"

After settling down in our new $65 a month dump, which Sue made look like a palace inside with her marvelous interior decorating ability, we began, with much reluctance on my part, to go to the streets. However, I rejoiced when we started winning souls on the streets of Hollywood, California. I was reluctant because there were riots on the streets by the hippies, and the police were doing their best to stop them. Sometimes they were not too successful. One night Sue and I saw a police car overturned with thousands of hippies surrounding it. They were playing volleyball with a police officer, hitting him over the head with his own flashlight. I was afraid that something terrible might happen to Susie as well as to the police officer and the hippies. I thought that it might be possibly tempting the Lord to let her go out there. I thought it would be better to go on national television and let her preach there than on the streets. I found out that I was, as Susie told me, terribly wrong. It was by our going on the streets to win souls that our ministry grew so big. God’s work in us spans to every country in the world. When Ronald Reagan was governor of the state of California, he sent his legal counsel, Herb Ellingswood, to our church to commend us for the job that the Lord did in us in cleaning up the drug problem that existed in Los Angeles at the time.

A SOUL SAVED IN OUR SHACK

One evening Sue and I were witnessing to a young man that she had witnessed to about the Lord before we had ever met. After we talked to him, he agreed to kneel down and receive the Lord. Susan and he knelt quickly on the floor. She began praying, and the man said the prayer. After the prayer, the great and mighty presence of God’s life filled the man and the room as well. The man was wonderfully saved. His face was flushed and lit up from this great presence of God’s life in Christ, the Holy Spirit. Both he and Susan raised their hands, praising and thanking the Lord. He clasped Susie’s hands while raised and they joyfully clapped their hands together.

Instead of rejoicing with Susie and the man when he became saved, a terrible thing happened to me. I began getting terribly annoyed because they were clapping each other’s hands. It was ridiculous for me to be annoyed because my wife had pastored both men and women for years before I was ever saved, and she was the most chaste, virtuous, godly woman I have ever met. God wanted to use her every minute of every day. She was a better preacher, more godly, more able to speak by the voice of God, than any man or woman I had ever met or heard, before or since. 7 This was because she lived so close to the living God and He lived and worked in her. I knew there was no reason to be annoyed about anything that she did or didn’t do.

THREE DIFFERENT LIVES AND LAWS IN EVERY CHRISTIAN

Giving ourselves completely and absolutely to the Lord, who has purchased us with His own blood, is required by Him before He can fully live and work in us. 8 Before we are saved, there are two different lives living in us, each life with a law of its own. After we are saved, there are three lives living in us with a law for each life. This is clearly outlined in the sixth, seventh, and eighth chapters of Romans.

The first life is the original good life given to Adam when God blew the breath of life into him, 9 which became a wretched life at the time of man’s fall. 10 The second life is the life of Satan, which lives in our flesh.11 The third life is the life of God in Christ, who by His Spirit enters everyone’s life on their day of salvation, at the moment they become saved, giving them His immortal life by mingling Himself into them and dwelling there. 12 Then, by the hunger and thirst we receive at the time of this great salvation or regeneration by God’s life in us, we must seek the Lord and desire His growth in us in order that we might be stabilized in Him more and more every day until we reach the fullness of the stature of Christ, or the full maturity of God living in us.13 The corresponding laws are (1) "The law of [the] mind," 14 (2) "the law of sin and death" 15 in our flesh, and (3) "the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus." 16

God’s life in us takes total power and dominion over the other two evil and wicked lives. 17 It is God’s life, the Word, Christ, in us that crucifies those other two wicked lives if it is our will to let Him live in us so that the other two lives in us can be crucified.18 The Lord states, "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." 19 Allowing God’s life to live in us crucifies our own self [selfish] life as well as the life of Satan, whose secret hiding place is our flesh. 20 In other words, the life of God living and working in us is the life of the cross. 21 It is the very cross power of God that Christ commands every Christian to take up each day and follow Him with.22

The eighth chapter of the book of Romans tells us that when the life of God is living in us, we are set free from the bondage of the other two lives and their laws, "the law of the mind" and "the law of sin and death." This is because the life of God living in us detects the two foul lives and their laws, abhorring them and nailing them to the cross. 23 They are kept under the subjection to God’s life by our will being the same as God’s. 24 If we keep both the devil that lives in our flesh and our self-life crucified by keeping on the whole armor of God, which is the life of God grown up in us by God’s Word, God will take care of the enemy in the world for us. 25 Our fight is not with the world, it is with the devil who hides the fact that his secret hiding place is in our flesh. 26 Therefore, our fight is with "the devil" and "the law of sin" that dwells in our flesh. 27 That’s what the whole armor of God symbolizes. It is the life of God grown to maturity in us by reading His Word and by a life of prayer.28

The Bible continuously warns us that the great danger of the Christian life is to go again into bondage. 29 The eighth chapter tells how a man can get out of bondage into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 30 Romans 8:1 states, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

These two persons or lives living within us need to stay crucified until we die. 31 Therefore, in order to keep both of them and their laws crucified, we must walk in God’s life, in His Holy Spirit, until we die. 32 God fashioned His salvation that way. This is because those two other lives are not going to leave our bodies until the day we die. 33 Paul stated, "I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." 34 He’s telling us the Satan in his flesh would again rise up, causing his soul to be cast away, if he wouldn’t walk in God’s life.

GROWING UP

When Sue, the man, and I were in the Hollywood shack that night, I foolishly thought I was a mature Christian. 35 I was spoiled because of all the signs, wonders, visions, and dreams that the Lord had given me. Therefore, I thought I was something special. However, I am not. Everyone has to go either God’s way or Satan’s way. 36 Even Christ did not make Himself special in any respect. He had to subject Himself unto the life of God living in Him in order to show the entire world how God in us is able to give us His power over sin, Satan, death, Hell, the world, and everything which is not of God. 37 "And being found in fashion as a man, he [Christ] humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." 38 I soon realized that the fullness of the Godhead bodily was there, but it was not fully grown up in me any more than it was in Jesus when He was born in a manger. Jesus had to be born, then grow up and mature into manhood. 39 We must do the same. Satan and my own life had not been totally wiped out because the total life of God had not yet filled me. I still needed to grow up spiritually, to be taught, and to experience God’s life in me to His fullness.

YOUNG TEACHERS ARE CONDEMNED BY GOD

The Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit tells us novices must not teach by saying, "Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil." 40 The same condemnation of the devil is an eternity in Hell. 41 There are so many puffing themselves up against seasoned war veterans. Many of them "despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." 42 These attempt to teach against God’s Word. Many of them hate God’s Word because it tells them they must submit themselves unto the life of God. The way of submitting ourselves unto the life of God is found in His Word, which tells us we must, in our early Christian lives, submit ourselves unto matured tutors and governors, those who have gone through the fire and are walking in the light or knowledge of God’s life, capable of leading the spiritual blind, not only into salvation, but throughout their entire Christian lives.43 These are men and women who have not called themselves into the ministry, but were chosen by God. 44 They are messengers for the Church’s edification.45 There are many people professing themselves to be Christians who are rebellious towards God’s life, as well as His Word, the Bible. They will not subject themselves to seasoned, highly chosen tutors and governors. Rather, they attempt with their unseasoned, uncalled spirits, not with the Spirit of God, to teach others, even attempting to teach those highly chosen vessels of God. 46 They are an offense unto God and God’s chosen pastor teachers. This is why God promises an eternity in Hell if they don’t repent and obey the scriptures. But Christ did not live like these foolish ones. Paul, in talking of Christ, states, "The heir [Christ], as long as He is a child, differeth nothing from a servant [us], though He be Lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the Father." 47

WARS AND FIGHTINGS IN US

We must not deny the death of our self-life and the life of Satan dwelling in our flesh. Instead, we must joyfully accept their deaths. "From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?" 48 The Apostle James is stating this to carnal Christians who have not the total life of God in them yet. I now understand what Paul meant when he said, "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now, if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me." 49 The converted, regenerated Apostle Paul discovered that his self-life and Satan were dwelling in his flesh, along with the law of his mind and the law of sin. They desperately needed to be subdued at all times in order to put the struggle between his life and the life of Satan to an end by the life of God living and constantly kept living in him. Only then would those other two lives be totally, permanently subdued by the taking up of the cross, the life of God in Christ daily, which truth he concedes in the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth verse of chapter seven in the book of Romans, "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death [self-life and the life of Satan]? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin." As Paul states, both lives must be crucified, mortified, and subdued under the life of God. This is a regenerated man testifying about the struggle of the three lives in him until he totally surrendered the other two lives unto God’s life.

Many people never understand the clarity of all of these scriptures. The life of God had to enter into Paul’s newly resurrected spirit with more than sufficient power to keep the other two evil and wicked lives that are living in him crucified on the cross so that the good that he was unable to do with his natural life could be done by God’s life in him. 50 Only God’s life can make it possible to do the things the inward man cannot do just because he wants to. In the above mentioned passage, Paul admits that Satan dwells in his flesh, so his flesh needed to be totally subdued by the life of God living in him. 51

I, like any true Christian, have been forgiven of all my former sins. I was saved, but the two other lives, the life of self and the life of Satan in my flesh, each with their respective laws, were not buried, crucified enough. They needed to be more firmly nailed to the cross, i.e., there had to be more of God living in me. Like Paul, I came to the knowledge of this situation existing in me that only God’s life in me could cure. I needed the total life of God living in me to conquer the part of me that would like to do good but couldn’t, as well as to conquer the devil, who can do nothing but sin. This is the need of almost every professing Christian today. They are totally ignorant of the exact interpretation of Romans chapters six, seven, and eight. They are more concerned about their way of serving the Lord rather than the way the Lord wants them to serve Him. They are paying for it just like I paid for the same thing that night in the shack some thirty years ago, which I will explain a little later.

God’s life in me knew that Susan only saw men and women as souls that needed to be saved and nourished with the fullness of the life of God in them. I didn’t have enough of a healthy zeal of vengeance towards the sin of the two uncrucified lives living in me to deal with the natural self-life and sin which was still dwelling in my flesh. It would have been overcome by the life of God if the life of God had been living maturely in me at that time, as it should have been. 52

LEVELS OF SALVATION

Receiving all the different levels of salvation is not something that is possible at the beginning of regeneration. God has to prepare us, and we have to be willing to yield to His preparation. 53 First Jesus tells us our souls must be cleansed with the blood of Jesus. 54 Then He tells us to purge ourselves by His Word, the Word of God. 55 The Lord tells us to "learn of Me." 56 This involves studying. He said, "Now ye are clean through the Word which I have spoken unto you." 57 When we obey, He begins educating us, pruning us like godly trees. 58 Because He loves us, He prepares us for everything He knows will be coming up in our lives both today and in the future. Therefore, salvation is a growing up in the life of God process. 59

We are not totally filled with the life of God at the time the birth of Christ takes place in us. What we receive then is the very life of God, which is in Christ by the Spirit. 60 We also receive a hunger and thirst, which give us a desire to grow and learn about God. Through our hungering and thirsting for the truth and for more of Him, He begins rearranging us. He gives us a new attitude, His attitude, and a new mind, His mind. 61 The Lord is training us to hear His voice, so that we might become strong sons and daughters with His life in us, establishing His kingdom on earth. 62 We are to be empty vessels with His life only doing His life works in us.63 No other life is allowed. 64 He is cutting away everything that is not of Him. 65 He polishes us so that we "shine as the brightness of the firmament."66

All these processes kill the other two lives. Paul, in his teachings, did not omit the fact that sin dwells in the flesh of every believer till they die. 67 If he had, we would have missed the answer to the question that we all want answered. What is the answer? The victory is the regenerated man, the man in whom God’s life totally lives, the man who is governed only by God’s life, "the law of the Spirit," 68 the man whose will and flesh has been crucified. 69 When God has finished preparing us, we’ll be matured sons and daughters of God. 70 We won’t need reminders to take up the cross or the Spirit on a daily basis and walk therein. 71 We will do it willingly and habitually.

The life of God is the power, the life in us, that keeps all of the commandments. 72 At that time, I, like many young Christians, believed that a new heart and a new spirit were enough to serve God with. That however, is not the truth. The new heart and new spirit that we receive at salvation gives us the hunger and thirst which motivates us to fill ourselves up with the life of God. We need God’s life thoroughly worked into our newly resurrected spirit and heart to do His work in us. We need God to use our bodies for His vessel, His temple to move where He will.73 Jesus stated, "I am the true vine, and My Father is the husbandman...ye are the branches [grafted into Me]...without Me ye can do nothing." 74 Without God’s actual life in us, we can do nothing godly.

The Apostle Paul was more determined than any man in the Bible. He by the Spirit of God wrote more than two-thirds of the New Testament. However, he confessed it is not him that does the works but Christ in him. 75 The life of God is in Christ. 76

Many people become discouraged and quit because they don’t understand the important message from chapters six, seven, and eight of the book of Romans. If they will receive the message and let God have His way, their discouragement will vanish into thin air.

Most Christians are impatient. They want to grow from a little baby in Christ to the fullness of the man Christ Jesus instantly. It is more foolish for a person to think this than it is for a person to believe a baby could grow from a mortal baby to a full grown man in just one day, or to believe that a person could start in the first grade of school one day and graduate from high school the next day. To wish to do this in the spiritual realm is to say that the carnal realm of the doomed world is more important than the spiritual realm and the everlasting world to come. It is to foolishly say that our preparations for careers in this world are more important than preparing our eternal souls for an eternity.

The Bible states that tribulation gives us the virtue of patience. 77 When the full life of God lives in us, the trials and tribulations we experience will be something we can receive both with patience and with gladness of heart. 78 This is because the life of God will be there in us to cushion every trial and tribulation. 79 There should be great joy in every believer’s life because the full presence of God’s life is being richly experienced in them. 80 The trials and tribulations that were so hard for me to overcome in those days are now laughable to me. I’ve grown. I’ve experienced much greater victories since then. You will as well, as He grows in you over time.

AT THE SHACK

At the shack, I was getting more angry by the minute, but held my peace. At that time I was standing up. The Spirit of the Lord fell on me from above and rings of the Holy Spirit came around me. Within these rings He spoke to me again, but this time He was saying, "Deny thyself, deny thyself, deny thyself, deny thyself, deny thyself, deny thyself, deny thyself," over and over again. 81 This happened in the same way that He told me, "It’s true, it’s true, it’s true, it’s true, it’s true, it’s true, it’s true" when I did not believe God was giving me Susan to be my wife three years earlier. This time I was just as mystified as to why God was telling me to deny myself. After all, I had quit smoking three and a half years before and I had been fasting without food or water for several days.

Even though God was rapidly telling me to deny myself over and over again, I didn’t realize He wanted me to be a gift totally given to Him, placed on His altar to use for His work as His will saw fit. 82 "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." 83 Sacrificing ourselves absolutely to God is the meaning of both consecration and sanctification. 84 Instead, in bitterness and anger I said, "Lord, how can You be telling me to deny myself so many times, as if I haven’t denied myself enough already? I haven’t taken anything into my body. I haven’t smoked for three and a half years. I haven’t had food or water for days. The only thing that has come into me all these days is air." At that time, I kept asking God what more I could do to deny myself. "On top of everything else, I even moved into this $65 a month dump of a shack."

At that very moment I felt both of my ears being plugged up by God with a sudden pop. This made me fear greatly, and I came to my senses immediately. Nothing that I was angry about seemed important to me anymore, except that I knew God was angry at me and I couldn’t figure out why. I thought, as many do, that self denial means not to eat, drink water, touch, taste, or smell. 85 Others think that going to church and listening for an hour is self-denial. All of this is ridiculous.

Salvation is living a holy life.86 It is experiencing God’s life in Christ in us by the Spirit every second of every day. It is having the other two lives in us totally die so that God can live in us and use both our broken spirit and our contrite heart.87

A great deal of my spiritual hearing was gone, even though I had many visions and dreams from Him after that. With the exception of the visions, I did not hear His voice speaking to me on a daily basis like I had before. Before, He would talk to me so often each day that I was used to it. I didn’t feel the necessity to read the Bible so that the life of God would be restored and built up in me each and every day from His Word.

In just three and a half years in the Christian field, I already had the reputation for having the ears to hear God’s voice. My spiritual hearing at that time had just been cut off by God to a great extent. The voice of God which I was used to hearing did not fully come back to me until just before the time of Susan’s death. It was so frustrating for me to want my original relationship with the Lord back and know I couldn’t have it then. I realize now that He wanted me to read His Word. He wanted me to see the testimonies in His Word of those that were unwittingly or deliberately rebellious towards His life because they had not yet totally given themselves over to God as sacrifices on His altar to let Him do His will in them.88 They had not had their Adamic self-life and satanic life in the flesh crucified by God’s Spirit, the cross, which is the offense to the world.89

REGENERATION

After studying His Word thoroughly, I could see it was good I had done this sin out of ignorance. God forgives the sins of a saved person when they are done in ignorance.90 It is a terrible sin not to desire the total experience of God’s life living in you.91 There are many stages, levels, and degrees of God’s life that must be experienced after the first step of salvation, which is the cleansing away of our former sins and regeneration.92

Regeneration means God’s very life enters us and lives in us.93 We must experience our past being forgiven.94 We must learn to abide in God’s life in Christ,95 consecrate or sacrifice ourselves unto the Lord,96 learn to develop the ability to rid ourselves of sins of ignorance97 by God’s life living in us, learn how to experience God’s life while living in the world and overcoming the world,98 learn to listen to our conscience by the life of God in us,99 obey the teaching of the Holy Spirit’s anointing,100 learn and know without a doubt the total will of God at all times by the life of God in us,101 learn to detect the Lord Jesus living in us by knowing the Church, which is the body of Christ, by the life of God in us,102 learn the meaning of the ascension by the life of God living in us,103 and learn spiritual warfare against our self-life, the life of Satan, and the sin that dwells in our flesh so that we may be victorious because God’s life living in us crucifies the other two lives for us.104 We must learn how to keep our entire being under the discipline of the Holy Spirit,105 learn the knowledge of the life of God which will deal with the Spirit of God Himself,106 learn what it means to be filled with the Holy Spirit by the life of God living in us,107 and know what it is to be filled with the full stature of Christ108 among other things. I was ignorant of the full knowledge of every one of these levels of God’s salvation at that time.

LORD OPEN HIS EARS

While Susan was ill, I never left her bedside. She had been in a coma for days. Suddenly, her eyes opened. She raised herself up like a person doing sit-ups without any help from her hands. She then placed her hands on both of my ears and cried out to God, "Lord, open his ears." Immediately I felt the spiritual plugs removed from my ears. Ever since that moment, I have been hearing messages from the Lord even more so than in the beginning. It wasn’t Susan’s hands that opened my ears, it was God who answered her prayer. Susan laid back down, went back into her coma, and died a few hours later.

Through living and experiencing God’s life, our hearts, our souls, our minds, and our ears become open channels for receiving His voice and His life from Heaven.109 Only then will we receive the messages from God that will never conflict with the New Testament covenant between God and ourselves.

WHEN THOU ART CONVERTED

It is obvious that the Apostle Peter was not converted at the time that Jesus told him, "Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men."110 Later Jesus told Peter, "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when THOU ART CONVERTED, strengthen thy brethren."111

Before Simon Peter’s conversion, he could not strengthen anyone with his carnal "Christian" condition. This was because the strength, the life of God, was not in him. He had not been converted. His own life and the life of Satan in his flesh had not yet been crucified or mortified. Most people think that Peter was a Christian, but here Jesus is saying that Peter was not a Christian at that time. In the whole world of professing Christians there are many Simon Peters, people who have not yet received the true conversion of God. True conversion or salvation is when God’s life enters the carnal person or professing Christian and totally lives, crucifying the other two lives of self and Satan in them.112 This is conversion and true Christianity. If people really care about eternal life and the spiritual realm, which is the most important life and realm since our spirits will live on, they need to immediately start preparing themselves for eternity.113 That must be done on this side of eternity, before it’s too late. Conversion cannot occur in eternity.

REPENTING

Many of the people who attend my church today have been born and raised in the church. They have become like my own sons and daughters, very close to me. A few of them disappointed me very much. For many years they had professed Christianity. They said they were saved, but they had not experienced true conversion. The life of God had not entered them; therefore, the other two lives in them had not yet been crucified, so they could not have experienced the power of God’s life in them. Some of them have recently confessed to living a corrupt life in the church during their childhood. After being convicted of their sins by some recent messages I preached, they became truly converted, born again of God through Christ. They confessed their sins to the Lord and vowed to God to forsake them.114

Although I was exceedingly happy that they were converted, I was also exceedingly angry about the way they had sown corruption into the church before their salvation. As my anger grew, the Lord brought back to my memory that scene in the room with the young man, Susie, and myself, a memory of the time I became angry and the Lord told me to deny myself. It is amazing to me how important the word deny is. When God says we must deny ourselves, He means that we must be totally converted in order to let Him live His life and have His way in us. Then He may crucify the other two lives in us by His Holy Spirit, His life living in us. Anything short of allowing God’s life to totally live in us is not self denial, let alone true conversion, salvation.

DENIAL

To deny ourselves is to be totally untrue to ourselves, including both our self-life and our life of sin, while being totally true and obedient to the life of God living in us. It is disowning ourselves and the other life in us in order to be totally owned by God, Christ who bought us with His precious blood, which He shed on the cross. Back then I should have both disowned and been untrue to my own feelings regarding the situation with Susie, the situation in the house, and every other thought of my own mind, flesh, eyes, and pride.115

The Bible says repeatedly that God’s desire is to fully live His life in us for His purpose, which is to bring many sons into Heaven by the life of God in His Son Christ Jesus living in them.116

Our church wins thousands of souls continuously for the Lord, and because I know the scriptures stating that every angel in Heaven rejoices when a soul comes unto the Lord,117 the Life of God Himself in me is always exceedingly joyful to see repentant souls who are now governed by God’s life in them. Only the blood of Jesus takes away our sins,118 and only the life of God in us both crucifies Satan with the law of sin in our flesh and crucifies Adam, our self-life, with the law of our mind.119 Again, living the crucified life and taking up the cross to follow Christ on a daily basis, as He commands, is no more and no less than the life of God living in us.120 The Lord requires a perfect life in us.121 He states, "Be thou perfect."122 There is no other way to live a perfect life without God’s perfect life living His perfect life in us.

I urge you to accept God’s offer of His absolute, immortal, divine life so that you may experience God’s perfect life living in you. Then you will understand that He will "grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit [His life] in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love [the keeping of God’s commandments123], May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height [of God’s life in you]; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."124

For those of you who have not yet experienced the true conversion of God, the very life of God which is in Christ Jesus, dwelling in your mortal bodies, know that the life of God in Christ is waiting to enter you at this very moment. He tells us all, "Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."125 This means you. Now is the time for you to be saved, converted from your life to God’s life living in you. The beginning of this wonderful, perfect life can be yours immediately by saying this prayer:

Prayer

My LORD and my GOD, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of the living GOD. 2 I believe that HE died on the cross and shed HIS precious blood for the forgiveness of all my former sins. 3 I believe that GOD raised JESUS from the dead by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT 4 and that HE sits on the right hand of GOD at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart, and I invite YOU into my heart, LORD JESUS. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that YOU shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 YOU will not turn me away, LORD JESUS; YOU will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because YOUR WORD, the Bible, says so. 8 YOUR WORD says that YOU will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that YOU have heard me, and I know that YOU have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank YOU, LORD JESUS, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as YOU command and sin no more.11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
