HARD UNDERSTANDING
by Tony Alamo

The WORDS of JESUS are the BREAD of LIFE to those who believe.1 The WORDS of JESUS are “The Revelation of JESUS CHRIST, which GOD gave unto HIM, to shew unto HIS servants things which must shortly come to pass; and HE sent and signified it by HIS angel unto HIS servant John: Who bare record of the WORD of GOD, and of the testimony of JESUS CHRIST, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear [believe, receive, understand] the words of this prophecy [the WORDS of JESUS, the SON of man, which GOD gave HIM], and keep those things which are written therein: for the time [to receive JESUS, the BREAD of LIFE, and the time of HIS coming back to earth] is at hand” (Rev. 1:1-3). JESUS, salvation, life is at the door of your heart, knocking at the door of your heart, giving you the last call, for you to be saved.2

JESUS said in John 6:44, “No man can come to ME, except the FATHER which hath sent ME draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of GOD. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the FATHER, cometh unto ME [JESUS]. Not that any man hath seen the FATHER, save [except] HE which is of GOD [those who believe the WORDS of JESUS], HE hath seen the FATHER [THE FATHER AND I ARE ONE3]. Verily, verily, I say unto you, HE that believeth on ME [the WORD which created Heaven and earth4] hath everlasting life. I am that BREAD of LIFE. Your fathers did eat manna [bread that sustained natural life for a short time] in the wilderness, and are dead. This is [I am] the bread which cometh down from Heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die” (John 6:44-50).

“I am the LIVING BREAD which came down from Heaven: IF ANY MAN EAT OF THIS BREAD, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is MY flesh [MY earthly temporal life on the cross], which I will give for the life of the world5 [if you are a believer, you will surrender your temporal life and be separate from the world, take up a life of self-denial, and take up your cross and follow JESUS without murmuring or complaining (Matt. 16:24)].6 The Jews [and today’s Gentiles] therefore strove among themselves [and today’s strive among themselves], saying, How can this man give us HIS flesh to eat [by eating, JESUS means this task to accomplish so the world may see MY testimony in you!7]? Then JESUS said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh [give up your temporal, your short, worthless life to do what I do] of the SON of man, and drink HIS blood [receive HIS life or lifestyle. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Lev. 17:11)], ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth MY flesh [loses their temporal life, gives up their temporal life], and drinketh MY blood [lives MY life—because eternal life is MY life—the eternal life is in MY (JESUS’) blood of (life of) JESUS], hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For MY flesh is meat indeed [easy to give up. “The flesh profiteth NOTHING” (John 6:63)], and MY blood is [MY lifestyle is] drink indeed [drinking HIS lifestyle is easy to do also if you are in the HOLY SPIRIT!]” (John 6:51-55).

“HE that eateth MY flesh [gives up temporal living], and drinketh MY blood [live their life, the life of JESUS, in the SPIRIT], dwelleth in ME, and I in him. As the living FATHER hath sent ME, and I live by the FATHER [the HOLY SPIRIT—“GOD is SPIRIT” (John 4:24)]: so he that eateth ME [he that gives up his way of carnal, temporal living], even he shall live by ME [MY blood. Again, the life, the eternal sinless life, eternal life is in the blood, the life of JESUS]. This is that bread [lifestyle] which came down from Heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna [their lifestyle], and are dead: he that eateth of this bread [MY SPIRIT lifestyle] shall live for ever. These things [these WORDS of JESUS] said HE in the synagogue, as HE taught in Capernaum. Many therefore of HIS disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it [who can understand it]?” (John 6:56-60).

“When JESUS knew in HIMSELF that HIS disciples murmured at it [at the WORDS of JESUS], HE said unto them, Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the SON of man [GOD in this human body] ascend up where HE was before? It is the [Holy] SPIRIT that quickeneth [is the life giving SPIRIT]; the flesh profiteth nothing [so far as eternal life is concerned]: the words that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are life [eternal life if you believe, and receive them, and live in them]. But there are some of you that believe not. For JESUS knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray HIM. And HE said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto ME, except it were given unto him of MY FATHER. [These are antichrists8] From that time many of HIS disciples went back, and walked no more with HIM” (John 6:61-66).

“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear [understand and do] the words of this prophecy, and keep those things [words] which are written therein: for the time is at hand” (Rev. 1:3).9

Accept the living BREAD of LIFE, eternal life now. Eat HIS lifestyle and drink HIS blood, HIS life. Begin by this prayer to the FATHER now:

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up the cross daily for the purpose of mortifying yourself, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of Christ.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of Christ. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for God on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for God on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the Word of God, then submit yourself and do what the Word says, so that the Church and the world may see evidence of your submission to God's Word, His order, and His authority in and by you.

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
