THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH AND SONG

by Tony Alamo

JESUS came into the world to save you and me.1 We learn of GOD’s might, strength, power, eternal life, and power to give immortality to those who keep HIS commandments, those who will do all of HIS will.2 The FATHER, GOD of all life, is patient. To HIM, a thousand years is what we think of as a day (II Pet. 3:8). HE doesn’t need to quickly kill a person for ignoring HIM or blaspheming HIM. Most people will be up before HIM in less than one tenth of one of HIS days. Most people will never reach one hundred years of life.

My FATHER GOD, JEHOVAH, says in Deuteronomy 32:39, “See now that I, even I, am HE, and there is no god [secondary god] with ME: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of MY hand. For I lift up MY hand to Heaven, and say, I live for ever. If I whet MY glittering sword, and MINE hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to MINE enemies, and will reward them that hate ME. I will make MINE arrows drunk with blood, and MY sword [MY WORD] shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. Rejoice, O ye nations, with HIS people: for HE will avenge the blood of HIS servants, and will render vengeance to HIS adversaries, and will be merciful unto HIS land, and to HIS people” (Deut. 32:39-43).

MY GOD AND FATHER, JEHOVAH, IS STRENGTH

GOD destroyed Egypt and its army in the Red Sea: “And the waters returned, and covered the [Egyptian] chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them. But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left. Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore. And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and HIS servant Moses” (Ex. 14:28-31).

“Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for HE hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath HE thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and song, and HE is become my salvation: HE is my GOD, and I will prepare HIM an habitation; my father’s GOD, and I will exalt HIM. The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is HIS name. Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath HE cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. THY right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: THY right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. And in the greatness of THINE excellency THOU hast overthrown them that rose up against THEE: THOU sentest forth THY wrath, which consumed them as stubble. And with the blast of THY nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. THOU didst blow with THY wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters. Who is like unto THEE, O LORD, among the gods? who is like THEE, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? THOU stretchedst out THY right hand, the earth swallowed them. THOU in THY mercy hast led forth the people which THOU hast redeemed: THOU hast guided them in THY strength unto THY holy habitation. The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Palestina” (Exodus 15:1-14).

“Then the dukes of Edom [Edom is Esau, Jacob’s twin brother, of whom GOD said, ‘I hate’3] shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away. [Rahab said this very thing to the two spies.4] Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of THINE [GOD’s] arm they shall be as still as a stone; till THY people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which THOU hast purchased. THOU shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of THINE inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which THOU hast made for THEE to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O LORD, which THY hands have established. The LORD shall reign for ever and ever. For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea. And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for HE hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath HE thrown into the sea” (Exodus 15:15-21).

Hebrews 11:6 plainly tells us this truth: “But without faith it is impossible to please HIM [GOD]: for he that cometh to GOD MUST believe that HE is [that HE exists], and that HE is a rewarder of them that diligently seek HIM” (Heb. 11:6). “And JESUS came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto ME in Heaven and in earth” (Matt. 28:18).5 You may think that things are hopeless, and they well may be: unless you seek GOD and have faith in HIM, it will be impossible for you to please GOD.6

The blood of JESUS will never lose its power. YOU, FATHER GOD, are my refuge, my strength, my rest.7 My hiding place is in the shadow of YOUR wings.8 I will sing for joy. There are angels everywhere in the shelter of YOUR care. Angels are everywhere, although most of us are unaware of their presence.

My GOD is doing miracles today. Don’t only speak of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, or of Daniel in the lion’s den. Today, GOD tells those who pray, those who seek to find, who ask to receive, who knock for it to be opened (Matt. 7:7), “I am the LORD, and I WILL BRING YOU OUT (Ex. 6:6)!

When I’m up against the wall, I want deliverance now, not in the future. Thomas was discouraged, and didn’t show up for the first prayer meeting.9 We really don’t get much encouragement from people, but we get encouragement when GOD shows up! Thomas, even Thomas, got encouraged when Jesus showed up, telling him to put his fingers in the nail holes and to thrust his hand in JESUS’ side!10 My LORD and my GOD!! Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST, and you shall be saved.11 Pray this prayer to GOD so you may be saved!

Prayer

My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. 1 I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. 2 I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. 3 I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit 4 and that He sits on the right hand of God at this moment, hearing my confession of sin and this prayer. 5 I open up the door of my heart and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. 6 Wash all of my filthy sins away in the precious blood that You shed in my place on the cross at Calvary. 7 You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus, You will forgive my sins and save my soul. I know because Your Word, the Bible says so. 8 Your Word says that You will turn no one away, and that includes me. 9 Therefore, I know that You have heard me, and I know that You have answered me, and I know that I am saved. 10 And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, and I will show my thankfulness by doing as You command and sin no more. 11

You've just completed the first step in a series of five steps which are necessary to receive salvation. Your second step is to deny yourself and take up your cross daily and follow JESUS for the purpose of mortifying your flesh, that is, for putting to death your own will, your soulful self, and the world with all of its lusts. All these must be baptized into the death of CHRIST.

Step three is your resurrection from the satanic life of Adam unto the sinless life of CHRIST. Step four is your ascension into a position of authority to reign for GOD with CHRIST on earth, and the fifth step is to reign for GOD in CHRIST on earth to the end for the purpose of bringing about the kingdom of Heaven on earth. You must learn the WORD of GOD, submit yourselves one to another, and do what the WORD says so that the church and the world may see evidence of your submission to GOD’S WORD, HIS order, and HIS authority in and by you. Praise the LORD. May GOD bless and reward you abundantly. Yours in the wonderful name of JESUS,

Praise the Lord. May God reward you abundantly.
