To whom it may concern,

My name is Avery Fairfax. I’m a member of the Tony Alamo Christian Ministry. I’ve personally witnessed daily, since January 2012 to date, many homeless get picked up off of the street and brought to our church and fed spiritual food for their souls and physical food for their bodies. I’ve watched this happen seven days a week, and twice on Sunday.

I used to be homeless before becoming a member of this ministry. This ministry took me in, gave me a place to live and gave me the responsibility of contributing to the function of the ministry by helping feed the poor and hungry, pick them up and pass out gospel literature all over L.A. County. If it was not for this ministry, I would be on the streets, still addicted to drugs without a place of my own to live. This ministry has changed the quality of my life and has given my life meaning and purpose. To this take property from us would be taking from many of us all that God has done for us through this ministry. It would be throwing away all the good that has happened to me and countless of others via this ministry.

This ministry does more for people than any other ministry I know. The place where I live, sleep and eat in no way is benefitting Tony Alamo. He is locked up in prison. The heat, gas, electric and water I use does not have anything to do with Tony Alamo. None of the property is in his name, nor does he pay the bills. The bills are paid by and for those who are in the ministry, who work hard to support the cause of aiding humanity in meeting the needs of the less fortunate in our society.

It has been brought to my attention that the implication is that all money made by people who are members of the Tony Alamo Christian Ministry is for the benefit of Tony Alamo and for his personal use, gain and/or benefit. This is absolutely unreasonable and unrealistic especially now that he is locked up in prison and does not benefit from anything in the outside world.

Please do not allow this evil to occur (the taking away of properties) because there are some who dislike Tony and his position against the evils of certain groups and institutions in our global society. Taking the properties from us and others will not be hurting Tony Alamo but many of us who are actually benefitting from the existence and use of these properties. Please do not allow this evil to occur.

Sincerely and respectfully,
Avery Fairfax
